Watching the OVW documentary on Netflix. It reminds me so much of something like Sunderland Til I Die in how its about the people and their dreams. Its a lot sweeter than I expected.
If its for real then the seizure in the third episode is scary stuff. And it made the edit?

To think, Snow thought they would sell out a 8k arena because of that show and sold about 30 tickets.

I know Netflix is a big deal and a huge amount of promotion that they’d never get otherwise but as fun as OVW looks for a local indie its doesn’t come across as a Good Product.

Benjamin again the highlight for me. He’s a great counter to all the flippy stuff I absolutely loathe.

He looks so big in AEW. And yeah much prefer suplexs over a dance routine ending in a lame pose.

Benjamin looking huge in AEW is just another example of something that’s been true in WWE for awhile. That recruiting so many smaller guys with indie backgrounds means that guys who’d looked about average sized during Vince’s day now look like monsters in comparison.
I’ve mentioned it before but Randy Orton looks like Kane fighting Rey Mysterio compared to almost everyone he fights these days and while he’s put weight on, its not like he was ever billed as being a big guy.

Randy's definitely bigger though as well. Think he's upto about 280. Think he was around 250 before he got injured.

I don't have too much of an issue with size, as there's always the David vs Goliath situation. I remember having chats about Rey Mysterio was on the cusp of it being slightly silly, when he was world champion. But it does get to a point, where how many times can you do a match, where Rey has to cut someone's legs down.

According to Wikipedia AJ is billed at 5’11” which I think we can take to mean more like 5’8 or 9”, so about my height and I’m the smallest guy in my office. But AJ always looks good, even with his post-injury beef-up he’d still probably look small compared to Benjamin.
On the other hand Brian Cage looks enormous but is really only about 5’6” or something.

I think AJ is the prime example of how to work that style of wrestling with his size.

Actually someone made a comment the other day. How many matches stick in your head, that are 5 star. The AJ vs Daniels vs Joe is still that one match. Fucking superb.

Amazing match. The only other triple threat that sticks in my head is the one at WMXX.
Incredible match that sadly I can't watch anymore for obvious reasons.

Ever since the days of Benoit I get worried when a smaller guy like AJ beefs up.

If I’m paying a thousand dollars for a wrestling show I’d want to be sat in Gorilla at the very least.

I can't remember what we paid for AEW, but it certainly wasn't cheap and I was nowhere near ringside

I paid about £80 for my All In ticket last year. We weren't close to the ring but we weren't in the nosebleeds either. Felt a bit overpriced for the view we had.
I looked at tickets for Clash at the Castle this year and the cheapest one was £300. There was even a story on the BBC about it.

Looks like they are going with Elimination Chamber in Toronto now rather than over here.

Jay White isn't a powerhouse, he isn't a technical wrestler, he isn't a high flyer and he isn't a brawler. He doesn't really have much of an identity I can put my finger on but I can't help but get drawn in by his matches - his match pacing, timing, selling, delivery of his moves and crowd engagement are all top notch.
He's like Adam Cole but if he was really good.

Cole going to look like Marko Stunt against most wrestlers at the moment.

Are there enough babyfaces in AEW to go against Mox and co? I was looking at the wrestlers waiting for them, and I don’t think I’m being too harsh in saying they are all jobbers, apart from Orange.
I don’t like Ricochet, but this is a great time to get himself over as a babyface. Stick him in there. Just seems an odd choice to have him backstage in a suit, whilst all this is going on.

I'd only want Ricochet if Mox was going to run through him. Then again, you'd get people saying he was buried just after moving companies (and there'd be some truth to that). I'm not a Ricochet fan so personally wouldn't mind it when Mox needs to look strong for a while.
I wouldn't look too much into who was waiting outside - they used to do the same thing with jobbers for the nWo, Nexus etc.
They've hinted at Darby being the one to eventually beat Mox but my gut tells me it may be a returning Omega with the recent teases. Failing that, I'd go with Ospreay or Swerve.

Oh, and that Shelton/Guevara match was ace. Pretty good Dynamite all in all (except the Jericho bits as usual).

I’m more a fan of watching Ricochet than Mox but it would make perfect sense to me for Mox to run through him. Have Darby run a longer programme against Mox but then a third guy being the one to be the one to finally beat Mox.

This has to be a legitimate angle.
