Imagine spending £70 on it at retail only then to discover you need to shell out £40 more to access the full roster. The way they have separated who is and isn't included off the bat is clearly a cynical exercise in profit maximisation too.

So long as they write the show with 2 hours in mind, I think it's the sweet spot for a wrestling show.

Oh and I was wrong about WWE 2K24 - you don’t *need* to play through the whole of Showcase mode to unlock Angle, Austin etc. Its just another payment of £10ish and unlike the Accelerator that unlocks everyone in the grind store, its not part of the £30 Season Pass. Basically even if you got it on PS+ it’d be £40 to play as every wrestler the day you download it. Since I’m not going to do that I’ve pulled all the AI sliders to 0 in the balance options so I can at least cheese my way through Showcase and get myself the more ‘modern’ WM20 Eddie. I spent money to get Punk. I feel dirty. WHAT A MARK |

Netflix recommended me WWE Bad Blood last night. Its just a placeholder/reminder but that and Mania XL say coming soon with NXT and Smackdown listed for the new deal starting in January.
The convenience means it’ll probably end up being the most consistently I’ll have watched Netflix and WWE in years.

Thought it was a pretty good go-home show for Wrestledream!
Really looking forward to Moxley/Danielson, Ospreay/Takeshita/Ricochet and White/Page - should all be bangers and I'm really interested to see the angle after the main event plays out. Glad Ospreay is finally away from Callis too - that hasn't made sense to me for a while.
Even the sadist in me is looking forward to Darby/King. Poor guy.

I found it a bit odd that fans didn't switch to the Tuesday though? AEW Dynamite on TBS averaged 329,000 viewers.

Yeah the numbers are grim. People not knowing about the change comes down to them but I think they just picked NXT instead.
Rampage: 216,000
Collision: 269,000
Dynamite: 329,000
Total: 814000

I'd be a bit worried if they hadn't signed a new WB TV deal recently.
Still, it shows there's some work to do to keep viewing figures up. If it were up to me I'd drop Collision or Rampage and give the roster a bit of a trim. I only have enough in me for about two hours of wrestling a week nowadays and miss the days when all I needed to watch was Dynamite.

Oh, and I thought I'd watch some of Bad Blood after taking a break from WWE since Mania - if it wasn't for the opener this would've been a pretty awful event (and even that had the wrong guy going over).
Some of the decisions/booking had me laughing and baffled at the same time. Only five matches on the card? No Gunther title match? Dom in a cage (hi Russo)?! Owens turning heel in a backstage segment? Goldberg? Punk winning? Crown Jewel Belt (eugh)?
The worst thing is it's still just non-stop Bloodline and Judgment Day. Was hoping that was wrapped up before RAW moved to Netflix so I can start watching again for the WM build up but in typical WWE fashion angles rarely finish anymore until Mania (and even then it might carry on).
Gunther continues to be great though. Best thing in WWE along with Drew.

It annoys me that there are two feuds I can think of that have potential. Braun vs Reed and Sheamus vs Dunne. These seem to left on TV feuds, which is fine, but considering we've seen the same old shit on the PPVs with Judgement Day in forever.. christ come on. Oh and Bloodline.

Like when TNA tried running Impact against Raw. What are you thinking?! There are a million Monday Night Wars documentaries and you’re all talking heads in them, you know how this ends! At this point no one is going to out WWE the WWE so don’t make the mistake late period WCW and mid period TNA did by trying to, be an alternative and grow your own thing. |
