A two hour pre show with no matches?? Could have bought some of the NXTUK talent back over and given them some matches.
Gable confirmed he's signed a new contract. Would actually be very happy if he wins tonight.

There was a kid no older than 8 with the heaviest Glaswiegian accent you can imagine screaming "CM PUNK YA RAT BASTARD" a few rows back from us. The lad was on fire all night.

Piper mentioning Lionhart’s passing in her post-match interview got me thinking of this. Easily the most electric promo I’ve ever seen in the flesh
I wonder how close that rat bastard was to trying to source himself a Germany top?

Drew and Punk stuff has been good fun but the end point now feels a bit pointless because Drew ain't losing at SummerSlam. Punk will probably end up injured again as well.

Punk likely getting cleared tomorrow. Drew should definitely win the match at SS. Priest lucky not to have a broken ankle but again showed how tough he is for going as long as he did.
Really happy Piper got her moment, she's survived Vinces she's fat so I'm going to make her a big dumb bird gimmick and she's got a load of love and respect for the business. Also great to see Dawn and Fyre get the belts back. 0 reason to take them off them last year though I do expect it to be a short reign with Belair and Jade winning them back either at MitB or SS.
Funnily enough seeing a lot of shit aimed at Jade for her botch but nothing for Priest. She's still got a lot of work to do but she hits that move 98/100. Oddly enough you could see the ref warning AJ about the ropes before the match started.
Though she did tap while trying to get Shayna to loosen her grip a bit.
Really enjoyed AJ vs Cody but felt the ending was a bit rushed? Which is odd considering that match took up nearly the entire first hour.
Chad's fantastic and they have a chance to get him mega heat now by beating Sami in Canada.

I tell you what, that was a brilliant experience and I'm glad I booked it despite the price. My kid had a great time and the crowd was better than any event sporting or otherwise I've ever been to. At points in the show they would put a decibel meter on the screen above the ring after the announcer woman had challenged us to beat the Lyon show on Friday. During the Drew entrance it went well north of 100 on the screen and the sound became almost physical in there.
I've got to admit despite the arena having the air sucked from it when Drew lost, they've done the job right. I'm now more invested in seeing a pretend fighter kick CM Punk's jaw off his face than I am most legit sports. I was probably going to tail off after this as I find it hard to have time to watch all their stuff through the week and my kid always gets impatient waiting to watch it, but I'll have to make an effort to keep up for the time being.
There were also a couple of guys in our section who were all insider references and wanting contrarian match outcomes. They were the most miserable people in there and it's sad that gatekeeping is so important to them that they can't turn their big brains off for a couple of hours and watch an entertainment show. That being said the Scots had them drowned out and they eventually shut the fuck up.
I've legit lost my voice today. I ended up being more into it than my kid was. If they do a Wrestlemania here we'll definitely go.

Yeah they put the dBA graphic up during the SD and Clash shows during the first and last matches. Got over 100 a couple times during the main event last night.

Drew and Punk is just the hottest feud at the moment. Ever since The Rock disappeared it’s been fairly piss weak. The moments Punk have come on to annoy Drew have been gold. I hope the feud doesn’t end for a good while.
Priest is probably grinning because of the hot feud, and he can keep the title.

He's keeping it till SS. Unless someone cashes in during the match then no way Gunther isn't walking out as champ.
Still makes it hard to see what Seth does when he comes back? The feud with Punk has taken such a back seat now it seems pointless. Only way they could really get it going is have him costing Punk a big match against Drew.

If Gunther beats Priest then you could make Seth be Gunther’s AJ Styles and save Seth Punk until after Drew Punk is done, perhaps even Mania if Punk can stay fit and employed that long.

Haha it's not far off. The Scottish youth near me calling him a rat bastard would have been over the railings there.
The lobby of the arena got a bit heated between pockets of different fans. and I got mugged off by a girl wearing a CM Punk shirt in a nearby Tesco later on because I had a Drew McIntyre one on.

But in reality it meant getting no sleep because there were two passengers who spent most of the night arguing about who would win between Austin and The Rock. In a very Kayfabe way, where it looked like they were going to come to blows.

Funny seeing some online say Drew is being wasted just because he isn't champ.

Yep. Some even acting like they tricked Gable into signing then not letting him win. The moment him and possible the Creed Brothers go fill team Angle is going to be great.
Howdys faction tonight, apparently its going to be more grounded than what Bray was doing. I'll give it a chance but not sure it's going to work. Lumis being used again will be a good thing though.

A lot of people who post about it online will never be happy. They want one person to win, until they win, then they are almost immediately boring. It's like the Andy from Toy Story "I don't want to play with you any more" meme. I keep seeing people online trying to speak Cody being bad or boring or whatever into existence. Reality check; he's not. He's incredibly charismatic, has insane chemistry with the crowd and is one of the most popular guys I've ever seen. A few whingers on the internet who prefer watching people smash each other with light tubes isn't going to alter reality.
There a weird relationship the online community seems to have with it. Like being in on it all being an act somehow makes it less lame to like it as an adult or whatever. I don't really know. Just watch it, be entertained by it, or don't and stop watching. Same as anything else.

I expected fans to start turning on him like always but at the moment it seems to just be some on twitter trying to pretend he hasn't already had two great matches with AJ plus a good match with Logan in the first 70 days of his reign.
Plenty of decisions I've not agreed with but I'm not going to whine about it or act like Drew losing killed an entire show.

It's one of those. You can't have it both ways. I would have loved to have felt the atmosphere if he'd have won on Saturday but at the same time, me and my kid are now fully invested on seeing what happens next so they have to be doing something right. Same with Gable, I've seen a lot of moaning that he hasn't won that championship yet but the story he's in is excellent and every episode he's in adds something to it. We look forward to seeing what happens with them every week.
It's easy to see the belts as some sort of validation but being a constant, meaningful part of the show that people care about every week is far more important imo. It's so much more enjoyable just hopping on and enjoying the ride than having to dissect everything on a behind-the-scenes level looking for meaning.

They nailed all the little moments between Chad and Otis on Saturday. Would have liked to have seen the dBA when he stepped in between Chad and Dupri cause it was loud.

I hope they don't get one of those American crowds that are practically on mute when he finally clobbers him. It was deafening when it seemed like he was going to on Saturday.

The character work Otis has been putting in is great. Bron is just something else.
Actually a really cool debut for the W6.
