I wish the main protaganstic wouldn't scream "Wahoooo!" when I flying for a few seconds. Other than that it's a far bigger world than I thought it would be. Insofar as traversal - I generally walk to any new place first - more interesting stuff can happen. The beginning of third area was one such case where I ran the wrong way and ended up having to go back to the plains then back into the new area via waterfalls/cliffs/rivers etc and scrambling my way to where I was supposed to be. Really quite fun not using the Ikran.

Walking is great for scanning literally everything. I'm probably about 30 hours in, and I keep finding new plants/fruits etc.

Generally enjoying this once I get into a flow with it but I find the lack of auto quest selection a pain in the arse. I’m constantly having to bring up a menu to select the next thing to do. Am I missing something or is that just how it is? I don’t remember the FC games having this issue, you just went from mission to mission.

I don't think there is.

It tracks the next campaign mission automatically if you've just done the last campaign mission doesn't it? Could swear it's done that without me having to do it.
But yeah if you manually select something else and complete that it just sits there warning you that you're not currently tracking anything.

When you finish a quest that's a chain, the next one appears on the UI but you have to hold a button at that time for it to become your active focus.
Can't say I've felt it was problematic for me thus far - I'm usually mixing things up anyway and picking a quest isn't an onerous task.

Not hard, no. It just breaks the immersion a bit more than I'd like as I find I'm doing it pretty regularly.

I'm (very slowly) still making progress through this.
I know this has been said a million times at this stage, but it's just *so* ridiculously good looking at times.
Just got to the Upper Plains where you tame your first horse thingy and ride through the swaying grass following the kites, coupled with the excellent music it was genuinely quite breathtaking at points.
