Woah Sega finally announced a new version of Virtua Fighter*. Check out the announcement video below:
* the version in question is 3tb and it's going online in Japanese arcades.
But hey, after we discussed it in the Tekken thread, they must have heard us as of course FontGeek are prominent video game trendsetters.

Haha yes. There is a steep learning curve. But personally I find the mechanics of VF to be understandable and logical, especially compared to it’s 3D fighting peers.

In terms of physics etc it's a lot more deterministic than something like Tekken, even if it can make things look a little odd sometimes. In the end I think it feels better to play so it's worth it; evading from 4 onwards in particular feels really great as your character shouts if you've done it correctly.

Bah. I haven't nearly enough time available to play a VF game ever again, but having spent more hours with VF2 in the 90s than any member of the opposite sex I'd have been glad to have seen it revived properly.
