I'm a lefty and I'm much the same. I've got tricksy and punchy: left for anything dextrous, right for anything involving more strength. My theory is that the world is set up for righties so I've had to be slightly ambidextrous, in a sense Yup, that's my thinking too and I'm the same - left for dex, right for str Which limb gets the Int?

Drinking while cooking is the best. Probably have about 3 gins while making dinner, then a bottle of wine with dinner. Maybe a gin or 2 after.
Only on weekends though! Though if the dinner is big the hangover is minimal for me.

I tried that new Coffee Guinness the other day - only had one can, but I can't decide if I like it or not. The wife thought it better than straight draught (can) Guinness, but she has been restricting her coffee intake recently so it may be just cravings.

I'm intrigued by it. I like coffee stouts so kind want to see what Guinness's take is.
But I don't want to buy a four pack, and not seen it in single cans anywhere.

Another +1 for drinking while cooking.
I like to chop all the veg first THEN crack open a can. It's like a reward for doing all the boring bits of the meal first. Then glass in hand, the kid in bed, the wireless turned up, and the stove bubbling. It's great.
A+++ would recomed.

The best about cooking is the drinking!
Lovely cold beer or nice glass of white wine always.

Especially if the bbq or pizza oven is fired up and the sun is out.
Mandatory beer in hand required there!

Lotta people watched Floyd growing up I see "Time for a quick slurp!" I've only really got into cooking in the last year or two but Keith was definitely on to something.

In the summer in the garden, with tunes, a drink, cooking on the bbq with my daughter and the dogs running about having fun is my favourite.

I’ve had a negroni. Might have to have another once the kids are asleep. Been a good boy all week though, just a single small can of beavertown of an evening

Never heard of a negroni, sounds good despite the gin. Jeez my spell check went very wrong typing that in.

We've done surprisingly well. Shopping trip after work so we stocked up for the weekend, but managed to resist the temptation of a cheeky drink or two.
Which is amazing considering how fucked off with work I am today!

I too stayed strong. Which was really hard as a) I'd been for a swim and felt like I deserved it and b) we had chorizo risotto, which is just crying out for a nice glass of red. Kind of regretting it now.

I seem to have got my "drinking too much" somewhat under control now, for now. *knock on wood*
I went 6 months without drinking at all. Then had three drinks while on holiday. Apart from one weekend where the missus went to London (I cracked down and had a bottle of Laphroaig) I've been very good. Only having 2-3 drinks at a pub and nothing at home. That feels like an achievement. I fucking miss having a whisky in the evenings tho.

Well done mrharvest! That's good going and to be able to moderate after a long break must be tough.
Just reading the bit about drinking whilst cooking, I really miss that. I'm so bored now, chopping shit without a glass of wine!
I notice a few comments about CBD drinks, I've not tried any but I started taking CBD oil a few days ago to help with arthritis pain (it has helped already). Unfortunately it hasn't made any difference to my stress levels at all but I have had some reasonable sleep the past few nights.
I wasn't sure about the drinks as apparently digesting CBD is the least effective method and in general most drinks have a little amount of CBD and other "stuff" in them so it sounded a bit of a minefield and was easier to just opt for the oil.

Ive had my first proper night out since giving up drinking and, yeah, drunk people are annoying. Its going to be a long rest of my life. I'm about to experience that next weekend as I've got a family get together. I should be looking forward to it as we haven't seen most of them in ages. However, they're already talking drinks so I'm starting to dread it as I haven't told them I won't be drinking. I'm going to take some AF stuff to try and stealth it but I doubt it will go un-noticed as there's always a heavy emphasis on getting wasted.

Lurker I'd just be up front - if they are mates worth having, they'll understand. It'll get easier each time I'm sure.
