I'm not sure it looks very much smaller, which will doubtless cause lots of online shrieking.

I'm a little surprised they didn't put it in a picture with the old models, it being 30% smaller in volume is a bit difficult to see without it.

Size reduction is nice. I'm thinking of picking up the dbrand plates to slim mine down a bit.
Wonder why they kept both models, instead of just reducing it to the digital with add-on.

Odd they haven't shown a side-by-side.
They are just becoming Apple-lite at this point though. A vertical stand being sold separately for the new model for 30 quid is just absolutely laughable.
I'm just glad it isn't a Pro type deal where you kinda have to buy it if you want the best experience on that platform.

Third parties are going to love the over the top pricing on the vertical stand, Sony clearly just thinking of them.
One weird choice is that the USB-A socket on the front has been replaced with a USB-C but it's still only a USB2 speed port and not a USB3 socket like the existing one.

The digital version is a bit of an improvement mind you. Would look alright with black faceplates.

The blog says it comes with a horizontal stand in very specific wording. They've literally monetised it standing vertically. The ultimate grifters.

The horizontal stand looks like someone used a hair clip, it'll probably do the job but it's very basic.

Just seen a composite of both models from the release images and it does look considerably smaller.  ed: May be slightly off looking at controller details but it's close enough to give a feel. |

If it's similar to the OG structurally inside the fins then that thing is going to have a big problem with dust clogging it up.

They put all of the flops in a vacuum pack bag and suck the air out with a foot pump, so they'll fit in a smaller footprint case. Don't know why they couldn't just do that to begin with, but whatever.
