Whatever I might think about Kojima and his games nowadays, at the time I was really moved by this as I had no idea I was playing BB.

The final ending of Nier: Automata.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
The 'basic' ending of Bloodborne.
The Last Guardian.

There's only so many times I can say "Xenoblade" in a topic like this before it becomes boring, but... yeah
Also Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky

Thimbleweed Park (Ron Gilbert's Kickstarted tribute/love-letter to his good old days of point and click adventures) does *not* go where I expected it to.
Oxonfree's ending is total gut punch.
The original Life Is Stranger ending was so amazing the whole subsequent franchise paled in to mediocrity imho.
KOTOR (though I completed this game in two sitting over one weekend, and finished it as dawn broke on Monday. I might have been a bit emotionally labile at the time).

The NOD ending for the first C&C was also quite good, where you get to destroy a landmark of your choosing with the GDI Ion Cannon. Felt like a nice reward for your hard work (building sandbags to block the entrances to enemy bases)

I loved Exhumed / Powerslave’s dual endings.
Earthworm Jim. Cow.
The Last of Us Part 1. And 2 - if you don’t think about how long it actually takes to get to it.
Limbo and Inside. Abrupt.
And I maintain Final Fantasy VIII has the best story and the best ending. Come at me.

Although I didn’t enjoy the game as much as the original I thought the ending to Bioshock Infinite was good
Probably

I find it hard to judge these threads, because we're usually talking about a narrative and I don't know if you can include gameplay
The Last of Us - the final act really got me, from when Joel and Ellie arrived, to the credits. I don't have kids but the desperate effort to find and protect Ellie really resonated.
Furi has a great twist
LoK: Soul Reaver, particularly when it was upgraded to act as the prologue for Soul Reaver II on new hardware

As mentioned earlier, that last section of Red Dead Redemption hit quite hard for me and the end of Halo Reach felt heavy too, with just the inevitability of it.

Portal 1 + 2 Half Life: Alyx (this is actually v amazing) Life is Strange (wow) Last of Us 1 and 2 Braid (oof) The Witness (what just happened) Inside (dafuq) Bioshock Infinite
The one that made my jaw drop the most though is... Rain World. I was totally invested in the game and the ending was 0_0

The Refusal ending for Mass Effect 3 is the best one. I will go to a Power Point presentation to defend this opinion if I have to.
