Don't think a thread has been made for this weird fps with magic shooter elements. Well the system requirements have been released and they're kind of ridiculous, especially that upscaling is required as standard and err a 2080 Super for just for 1080p Low.

The console versions are meant to be 60fps somehow dragged up to 4K with FSR2, so I'd assume they're the equivalent of 'low' as well. I don't think it refers directly to the actual ingame settings, as being a UE game it'd surely max out at Epic, but more just names for bandings.
They've shown the graphics settings menu and, while they don't show the actual visual effect of each setting, they seem to do a bunch of calculations and assign each setting's impact a score which you then match up with a 'budget' calculated from your CPU and GPU's corresponding scores. I'm interested to see if DF do anything on it, seeing how they correlate to frame times and so on.
I'm kind of looking forward to giving this one a go as I do like a good FPS, but unfortunately the Amid Evil expansion has just come out so it's suddenly got a serious competitor in the 'FPS but with magic' category. Which also has RTX support!

It really reminds me of Forspoken. Both games I can see myself grabbing when dirt cheap but just nothing there to justify a full price purchase.

It's weird, most of the reviews aren't bad, nothing stellar but around the 7/10 mark but you'd think it was an absolute stinker the way EA seems to have released it with little to no fanfare at all.

I think it actually looks like it could be quite good fun, it’s just terribly timed for me with Starfield just round the corner, so I’ll probably wind up grabbing it cheap down the line. Just after the studio has been shuttered.

Mid tier shooters like this can often be a nice little palette cleanser for the right price, that price probably (definitely) isn't £70 though.

Christ this doesn't look too great on the consoles. I think 60fps was the wrong choice. It looks poor. The pixelation of FSR2 looks quite bad too.

This has a peak online users of 751 on steam. 2023 is not being kind to average games. average games that have steeeeeeep hardware requirements. Sure it might look pretty'ish but when the average pc is 16gb ram and a gtx1650 it's going to die. Fast. |

Instead it launched mid cycle and everyone forgot about it by the end of the week.
I wouldn't mind having a look at it at if it hits one of the subscription services but it's pricing was ridiculous for what it offered.

Yeah, especially how it's the first 3rd party game to use the full suite of a next gen technology and despite many publications trying to make that a big thing that you should care about no one could give a fuck especially as it's married to gameplay that is serviceable.
Yes, I think the advancement of tech is important but they really shot themselves in the foot here.

Oh dear, I mean that's terrible for everyone involved but like Forspoken it really seemed to be a AA game in AAA clothes. That kind of game would have had legs in the 360 era but with the ridiculous budgets and prolonged dev periods now it's just not going to happen. Let's not also forget how it intentionally limited it's audience with its minimum spec, the Steam hardware survey shows that not everyone's running a 2080ti.
