GTA V was the beginning of the end of voice chat for me. 5 minutes in a public lobby was plenty enough for me.
Also, realising that if Mario Kart had voice chat mid-race would make that the the most abusive online experience imaginable. Bleugh.

Luckily Nintendo were smart and made their voice chat the most ridiculously useless and inconvenient thing ever.

Better late than never but I'm so glad to have less than zero interest in the type of games that encourage public voice chatter in the first place. It would literally be one of my ironic punishments if I got sent to hell
