Is changing mech parts that much different from switching out gauntlets or helmets? That, if anything will draw me in, folks just love numbers and making them bigger, and From do that so well The Assembly area looked insane as far as customization Combat looked... limited, but I guess everything I have seen is early game.

I think the last mech game I played was Future Cop LAPD. Does that even count? Great multiplayer.

Is changing mech parts that much different from switching out gauntlets or helmets? You do have a point; obviously not much, just swords and armour are a bit more grounded and relatable, IMHO, than exotic mechanical parts with technical specs. Of course, it all comes down to the presentation of stat improvements...

I don’t know what the rest of you are on about but I love mechs and this looks incredible. The scale of the levels is absurd. That strider thing - just fantastic.
People radioing their friends before you wipe them out? The general melancholy feel? The wrecked, desolate landscape full of megastructures? Dear baby Jesus, inject it straight into my veins.
Edit: also for me personally the statements “equip your Vorpal Blade +2 to defeat the Arch Bushdemon” and “equip the missile battery to fight 12 robots” require approximately the same suspension of disbelief.

I just don't get mechs. It's all so soulless. Never got into transformers either even when little.

I'm seeing a lot of interesting previews of this, more so Skill Up's impressions and I know he isn't for everyone he said something that stood out, being that he's seen some people try to claim that Armored Core and the Souls game share a lot of similarities which he is saying they don't and it definitely still makes me think there's going to be a fair amount of people who will buy believing it to be a soulslike and then get a rude awakening.

Yeah, it’s not a souls game. I never really got on with armoured core. I’ve never been a big fan of lock on and dodge combat anyway, but the levels were always a bit rubbish and the plot completely nonsensical. I never played five, though.
That said, I will be getting it because it does look really cool but going in with my eyes open that I probably won’t love it at first/ever

I think there's going to be quite a few people who'd never even heard of it before who are suddenly retroactively life long Armoured Core fans

Fact is, it's getting a lot of previews/coverage from people/influencers (hate that term) associated with Dark Souls, like VaatiVidya, FightinCowboy, Iron Pineapple, even EG's Ian Higton claims it's "Dark Souls but with Mechs (Kind Of)", so it's bound to be compared to DS and people will be disappointed if it's not anything like it...

I mean it's patently obvious it's nothing like a souls game

It was a verrrry long time ago though. I’m pretty down for this one, knowing that I may well bounce off hard. Might have to watch some Pacific Rim soon too.

The meme says grandpa, what do you want from me (Well actually the meme typically has a grand ma, but unless YOU'RE hiding something from us...)

Lotta people in here that remain salty that their parents wouldn't buy them the cool Transformers, and all they got was Bumblebee and Paraglide.

I assume so. Arena mode was always the best bit about it. That part was actually really fun.
