Saka is such a King. Shame for the Arsenal fans he's going to have spent his entire summer carrying a country.

This has been a defender’s tournament that’s for sure.

Sad we lost, but at least it was against England instead of cunts like Portugal

Seems almost perverse to say, but it does feel like we are getting better every game. Not necessarily good, but definitely better.

Really love Saka. His mentality is elite.

I don’t get the ‘lucky’ Southgate thing
What’s lucky about scoring a goal when you needed to and then executing a penalty shoot out exactly like they planned it?
It makes a change to see a well drilled England team that know their roles and are prepped to a high level

I do think he deserves credit for the culture in the team that he has nurtured though. I could get used to watching 5 elite penalties from England players.

Damn. Are we really that bad in penalties? Surely Seaman has a few saves by himself?

The clear strategy for the next game is to go 1-0 down as soon as possible, play Saka in every position, and play for penalties.
And with that wisdom, I'm going to bed.
It'd be nice if they'd win one in 90 mins though... I need sleep!

This Netherlands Turkey game feels like the one quarter where both teams are going to go for it.
Ready for some goals now.

If it makes you feel any better Bill, our next game starts 3 hours later.

England would need to be ready if either team here gets through. Turkey especially doesn't seem to play with any fear.

Fuck it, we’re in the semi final. Hopefully Southgate ball can take us all the way. Then he can leave and it’s win/win.

It’s the best prepared England I’ve seen. Usually tournament England carry lots of baggage, club infighting, fear, no plan when it comes to penalties “No. we don’t practice them” Southgate might be boring but he leaves nothing to chance. He gives this team the best possible chance to go far

A semi final is a semi final but again, it was reliant on a piece of individual brilliance to keep us in the tournament. Those moments run out eventually, people can't keep scoring worldies to avoid elimination forever.
It's not going to wash against Spain this. If we get that far. If they go 1-0 up they will keep hold of the ball and make us chase after it until the heat death of the universe rather than immediately sit off like our last two opponents have. At some point a game plan is needed.
But that's for another day. Great penalties and I'm really pleased for the individuals who put them away.

Of the last two Euro winners, Portugal were shit throughout. Italy weren’t convincing either. Sometimes you just have to keep in it.

If we got there the best chance against Spain would be to play for a 0-0 and take them to penalties
That’s exactly what we’d try to do but they’d pick us off eventually

No arguments, Spain have been on another level.
But I gotta believe. Kick. Punch. It’s all in the mind.

Going to call it - France vs England final. They were the two favourites according to a bunch of pre-tournament Analytics and I think the data geeks will get it right this time.
