Would have been a better title. Anyway, blah blah, someone from the past shows up and he's the biggest baddest big bad that ever badded, and the previous big bads are now good and have to help out, and someone who was previously dead is now not. Just like the past four or so films. Also family.

Anyway, I'll watch this. I didn't care for the last one because it lampshaded how fucking ridiculous everything was getting, and I like these movies more when they are not as self-aware. I want to be laughing *at* the movie, not *with* the movie. But most of the entries have been reliably good fun, so I'll watch them as long as they keep making them.
And here is a really fucking spicy hot take for you: for a series that's gone on for this long, Fast and Furious has a better track record of quality than most franchises not named Mission: Impossible. In fact, I think I've enjoyed them more than most Bond films, and definitely more than most Marvel films.

Is this about the "Fast and Furious" franchise (ooh, alliteration!)?
I have never even knowingly seen a clip from one of these films, let alone have any interest in them.
Let me see: it's a long-running series of films, something to do with being like the video game series "Need for Speed". One of the actors apparently died, very sadly. It might have Vin Diesel in it, whom I admire for his Dungeons and Dragons love, but have not seen act in anything other than...is it Pitch Black?
That's about it!

After a few films they change the formula to just be big dumb action movies that happen to have a few modded cars in them. They're incredibly entertaining, but the last few have gotten a bit too big and dumb.

I'd always prefer to be watching 2 hours of F&F doing dumb shit in an amazingly entertaining way than the 3rd remake/reboot of a 'classic' movie or another comic book movie.

I don't give a shit, I unironically love the series because they know what they are and do it well. If this series had been released in the 80s I don't think it would get the snobbery it does now. Yeah I'm on board with this. They are well made, and are tremendous fun. They have a weird sincerity to them that's really kind of endearing to me. I'd call them a guilty pleasure, but I don't really believe in guilty pleasures. If you like something you like it, and should not feel guilty about that. |

The first 3/4 films were also ridiculously sexist. Though they slightly improved for that.. while also fridging love interests reasonably regularly. So not that improved.
But at least a couple of the chicks got to drive the cars and kick ass, rather than just dancing and being won as trophies. Yay progress!
The one with the safe was the best.

Sitting in my seat for Fast 9 I thought to myself "well it can't be worse than Fast 8 was."
Boy did I get that wrong.
Hopefully Fast 10 is closer to 7 (or ideally 5 which this obviously has plot elements from, the pinnacle of Fast films) than the last two because they were crap.
