"Assassin"
Mine missed out on Microsoft Flight Sim, where I had twice the hours (350ish) of Elden Ring, which was the only soulslike I played, but the rest of it is pretty accurate. At least mine are actual genres

How is 'Cats' not a genre??! Either I played Stray for longer than I thought I did, or Steam somehow took notice of whenever I took a screenshot of a cat in other games and added that to the tally.

Mine is fairly unexpected (having both narrative and narration on it made me chuckle) but makes sense given what I've played on Steam this year :

"1990s" needs to be an actual genre. Let me hear you say yeah!

Mine is thoroughly messed up due to my kids playing on my account. Human Fall Flat gets most of the playtime, and I try to avoid that wherever possible.
Interesting that the average number of games played by steam users is 5.
Most of you lot are around 50 or 60 you nutters.
I'm on 6 (including the kids)

I'm on 6 (including the kids) I’m RIGHT in the average on both games played (5) and achievements attained (21). Only under the average on streaks (I played two days in a row, average is 9). Making me think Steam is losing some of its popularity if my only one or two weeks of playtime in February is the average.

My list of Rimworld Warcrimes is long. I'm probably on a list of some kind. I also have a thriving farm in Farming Simulator, with mods you can automate a lot of game so it turns into more a hands on Management sim. There's a map mod called Calmsden Farm which is honestly one of my favourite videogame worlds to visit. Then I got into Hunting games which was a weird time in my life. Sneaking up on Canadian Geese and turning them into pink mist is more fun than it sounds. Elden ring takes up the souls like. Warhammer would be Chaos Gate Daemon Hunters which is fucking great. No idea about Narration

I've got 176 but most of them were probably played less than 10 minutes. I re-installed a lot of old games only to abandon them again quickly, and I had a ton of new games that I refunded again after less than 30 minutes (which Steam scolded me for, I'll need to exercise restraint). Racing is Ride 4, my most played game this year. Open World Survival Craft is probably Fallout 4 & Skyrim, #2 and #3 this year. 2D platformer and Metroidvania check out as those are my favourite type of game. Also, Bloodstained is on #4. Action Roguelike is probably mostly Vampire Survivors (#5), although I think that's really stretching "Roguelike". Also it's odd that it's supposedly more play time than Open World Survival Craft, that makes no sense. "Programming" is odd, it can only be TIS-100 and Shenzhen IO, but I have little play time with either. I wondered where 1st person shooter is, then I remembered Wonderlands is on EGS and I have hardly played any others this year.

These games are all just awaiting time to play them or wishlisted (Farming Sim). Terrifying.

The learning curve on Farming Sim is insane. I mean it's obvious but you actually have to learn all about Farming, all about the machines and what each thing does and why. I ended up on real manufacturer websites at one point. It's a rabbit hole and then some.
It's one of those games much like Rimworld you have to dig to get to the gold.

Mine was pretty light as most stuff played was less than half an gour testing Steam Deck. My wife got top Steam game with Dorfromantik (on Deck) with Command&Conquered Remastered coming in a distant second....

Some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't. No clue about Vampire. I mean sure Vampyr obviously fits the bill, but that's maybe 30 hours. And there is nothing for RPGs even though I played through Disco, Baldur's Gate, Shadowrun: Hongkong and replayed Pillars...
46 Games on steam, but many of them were very short or I didn't spend much time with them.
A few games are not included as I have them on gog or no digital copies exist. Inquisitor and Grim Dawn are the main ones that come to mind.

It's telling me that I played 367 sessions of Dragon Age: Inquisition this year, but I reckon about 350 of those were testing mod load order for a few minutes at a time.

The chart does seem a bit odd for me. I expect it is doing something a bit more than just taking your total playtime on a particular game. I have automation on mine, but I suspect that is just because I have played Factorio/Dyson Sphere with a friend that loves those games about 4 times, probably about 2-3 hours each time. Fighting games is quite high, much higher than automation, but I would be surprised if I played fighting games for a longer period than Factorio/Dyson Sphere.
I suspect it takes into consideration number of sessions and different games. So, I played a few different fighting games before settling in to mainly play Tekken 7. Probably have only had about 7-8 hours of that, but I played another 2 or 3 fighting games for another hour or so each.
Besides those two, I have point and click (played through the first two Monkey Island games before Returns, but don't think I played any others) and Soulslikes (Elden Ring, obviously). Also narrative games, probably because Ive played a few visual novels on the Steam Deck.

In previous years my steam stats would have been basically the whole story, but this year my most played games have been on Epic or Origin, and I think I've played more games on Epic than on Steam.
Combination of Fortnite and all those epic freebies.

I uninstalled Fortnite this year, so I have actually played (and finished!) a bunch of games. Not sure how many were on Steam though...
*is currently waiting for 60Gb Fortnite download*

This year, I think my graph will be 70% shooters (mostly old school) and 30% RPGs (basically eighty hours between New Vegas and Withering Rooms). I would like to know the total number of hours played in the year, too. I wonder if reached 365 hours this year. There've been many days when I haven't played at all, but also a few weekend marathons too.

Don't actually know what I've played that is through Steam. Current big game for me is Metaphor and lots of time with Elden Ring earlier in the year. Spent a lot of time with Cyberpunk in the middle of the year, but that was on Epic.
