More ghost babies and poop grenades, and a grey haired Norman Reedus looking like he’s prepping to play Santa.
PS5 exclusive it seems.

They should have recast Reedus with Sutherland.

Cool. I tapped out on the first one twice so never saw the end, but it’s a really cool unique game. If they could get the combat to feel a bit more fluid and fun it’ll be a winner.

Its worth going back to if you get stuck for something to play. The ending is actually pretty great and very satisfying in a 'this doesnt really make sense but Im here for it' kind of way.

I gave up pretty early on. Weirdly I enjoyed the but where you're just walking about but when shit kicks off I just couldn't be arsed.
A PS5 exclusive should at least look pretty amazing though given how good the first one looks.

The stuff I connected with, I *really* connected with, which let me power through the 30% of the game I absolutely hated. And even then, it feels like you spend most of the time trying to circumvent game systems like driving where you arent supposed to, just reloading when the graboids get you because its easier and more efficient than actually fighting them....
Its a completely unique experience, for sure.

There's definitely things they could improve upon and there's loads of things that irked me about it. It was such a brilliant and (as has been said) unique experience that I loved it regardless. I really liked the Clifford encounters as well. Just batshit to suddenly go back to three different war zones. Although the game was at it's best when it's just you in the wilderness with the odd creepy BT encounter. I tended to get annoyed at all the junk left behind by other porters as well.

The first was great until all the roads were built and you'd created your network of ziplines and realise you'd removed all challenge from that part of the game, and should really finish off the storyline (not that it was bad, just that it meant the end).

I both loved and hated it. Sometimes just wandering about in the countryside was a lovely experience, but then it was also a bit dull a lot of the time. The story was insane but also a bit bobbins. The combat was just a bit crap. I hated the online stuff. Fuck off with your massive motorway that wasn’t here yesterday! Never finished it as it outstayed it’s welcome.

I noped out when the black oil things start attacking you. Those sections were just too clunky and awkward to play.
Opening section was amazing thhough.

Like others have said already, the traversal is quite enjoyable and fun, but frankly the combat/ stealth sections both against the mules and BTs were just not very fun.
They weren't even challenging, really, just tedious to work through.
So I love the ambience and walking around but the actual gameplay layered on top just wasn't very satisfying.

Adored the first; can't wait for the second.
That's it. That's the post.

Didn't expect this, story was quite complete?
Really loved the first, it's such a marmite game, but I could easily play another.
Is it going to be set somewhere else?

Thought the combat was fine. Not difficult at all but the sound/visuals when taking enemies down always made it feel satisfying - plus playing offline, was followed by looting all the materials from the camps, which was just really satisfying menial work
Couldn't get into the story at all, just didn't care about any of it or the characters, so didn't finish it beyond completing the main area
