Sponsor me for Movember so that it doesn't look like I'm doing it just to upset the wife:

Good luck! Get some update pics up there when you can.
Mine looked absolutely awful when I did it, but that was over a decade ago and my beard game is a bit stronger these days. I'll have to do it again next year.

I hope it's a handle bar like your crude MS Paint implies.

I hope it's a handle bar like your crude MS Paint implies. that's what I'm aiming for. I've posted a photo from today, the problem with having grey hair is it just doesn't show up.

Hope nobody minds me resurrecting this thread, but I am doing some of that there charity fundraising. I'm doing a 20 mile walk, organised by my workplace, to raise money for Crisis, a national charity aimed at helping homeless people get off the streets. I'll be walking around Cardiff with some colleagues on the 14th September. If anyone feels like donating, please do so using the link below www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ianhickman2023

Careful now. Don't want the Everton mob descending on us again!
Weird that it doesn't allow gift aid.

I can assure you I don't want a PS5.
Could do with a new graphics card though.

And the walk is done. Started at 9:30, finished now. Gone round the monopoly board. Absolutely shattered.

Well done!
I know what it actually entailed but in my head I do picture you literally walking around a Monopoly board. Like a regular size one, on the floor.

Hi all, just updating as a couple of people contributed, but I have completed the 20 mile walk. Took about 7.5 hours in total, including a few short breaks at checkpoints. Feel mostly okay, though think I have blister on my foot that I dare not look at until I get home. Few aches and pains but probably feels as I expected. If anyone still wants to donate you can, but thanks to everyone who has already done so. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ianhickman2023

Good day fellow FGers. I’m jumping in the sea on Boxing Day for the Brain Tumour Charity. I tend to put my hand in my pocket and then just photograph other people doing stuff like this, so this is quite the thing for me. Christ, I'm even going to dress up and I think the last time I did that was... NEVER. Please donate to stop me bottling a great cause, because fuck it's going to be cold! www.justgiving.com/page/peter-abbey-1700223873737

I hope no-one minds me popping this up here. TL;DR - the owner of my regular coffee shop told me the other week that her uncle had just been diagnosed with MND. When I went in today, she had put a notice on the counter, stating that she (a self-professed "non-runner") will be running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in May to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. I myself will not be running - I want to be very clear about that! - so this is not a Font Geek-affiliated endeavour in any way, shape, or form. I'll be sponsoring her, but I don't expect anyone else to do so - zero pressure here. Just figured I'd post the link in case. justgiving.com/page/sophie-illingworth-1706808801279

Just giving this a quick bump, as the marathon will take place on Sunday (May 12).
Again, no pressure whatsoever.
If anyone's interested, there are three short (c. 30 minutes each) documentaries about Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield on BBC iPlayer:

I'm doing another 20 mile walk for Crisis through my colleagues, this time around where I actually live (Bristol) instead of an adjacent city (Cardiff).
Last year we collectively raised over £200,000, so it's all for a good cause. Personally I'm just looking to raise £100. crisis-citywalk.blackbaud-sites.com/fundraising/ians-fundraising-page539Any donations welcome, but entirely up to you

Postscript to the above: Sophie finished in 5:20:52, and raised over £3k for the MND Association in the process.
I know sweet f.a. about running, but that seems like a bloody impressive time to me... especially given how hot it is!
Kudos aplenty to her, and everyone else who ran in today's marathon - a great achievement for a great cause.

20 mile walk was a success. Set of at 9:00, completed the route and back at the office at 15:30, even including a few stops - probably 6 hours walking in total, maybe less. Good weather, not too warm and only a brief light drizzle spell. Don't feel too knackered, which was good as I had to cycle home afterwards and then cycled to my mates for boardgames this evening. Only two minor blisters, which is substantially better then the one massive blister I had the last time I did this - I can actually walk. Thanks to the folks who've donated, it's very much appreciated. On the off chance any else wants to donate the link is here: crisis-citywalk.blackbaud-sites.com/fundraising/ians-fundraising-page539

Bumping this charity drive again in light of the disgusting acts of hate from last night.
Share love not hate.
