Does anyone else ever play Thanos? My go to deck but I honestly have not seen him once played by anyone else ever.

Right, I’m going to give this a go. Any quick tips for what to get at the start so I don’t waste the free shit they give you? Do NOT use your credits to buy fast upgrades in the shop. Fast upgrade buys the remaining boosters you need to upgrade a random card from your collection and you will get plenty of boosters normally without spending credits. Also, you will get 3000 free collector's tokens when you unlock the token shop at collector level 500. That's enough to buy 3 series 3 cards that will cycle randomly (along with series 4 & 5) in your shop daily. Do NOT do what a friend of mine did who didn't quite understand what was going on and blew his entire 3k on M'baku who cost 3k tokens at the time.

What is the best thing to spend gold on? Is it only for missions and alternate art?

What is the best thing to spend gold on? Is it only for missions and alternate art? Can also save it to buy one of the bundles that they occasionally sell for gold.

I have the new Ghost card in my token shop - “Your On-Reveal abilities always happen last”. I like the thought of building a deck around it (Shang Chi anyone?), but it costs 6000 tokens and I have… 300 tokens. Don’t think I want to pin it for that long.

I probably wouldn't risk pinning something for that long anyway. Haven't game updates removed pins in the past? They've reset some minor things for me, but I haven't had stuff pinned at the time thankfully.

To speed your progression play with lots of different cards so you start getting boosters for them and you can easily upgrade more cards to green/blue quickly while it's cheap. Any gold you get either save for bundles or preferably in the early stages use them to refresh missions so you earn credits faster. Spend credits along with the aforementioned boosters to upgrade cards. Don't worry about only upgrading cards you like they do nothing apart from make them more shiney but most importantly they upgrade your collection level. This level is what GETS YOU MORE CARDS for your collection so you want to be jumping up the level whenever possible. You will unlock cards in the starter pool first, then pool 1 then 2, 3 etc. You won't get cards from later pools until you've completed each pool and each card unlocks in a random order. Rinse repeat. Eventually you'll unlock a token shop and can spend tokens to buy stuff early. See comments above from the seasoned geniuses ;-) When you get you collection level to a 1000 (iirc?) You stop just getting cards for every upgrade and start earning boosters, credits and reserves on each notch. The reserves are like a loot box of random shit containing titles, variants, credits, gold and cards. This the the point where to collection sloooooooows. You have a chance to pop cards from a higher loot pool here but the ratio is low and usually you get shat on .. M'Baku anyone? There is a pity system meaning after X number of current pool you will ping a higher pool. Fuck knows if genuine.

I get it - so there’s a fixed linear progression at the start that’s the same for everyone where you upgrade card appearance and that in turn unlocks new cards. Do cards powercreep as you advance up this ladder?
So when people are searching for cards on here, they mean they’re searching for new card skins?
Edit: retreating crashed the game - known bug?

Was getting bored playing with my current deck and so switched back to my Spectrum/Ongoing deck.
In my opening hand was Sandman, now a 5/5 that I put there when Sabu was out and I think to myself I could put a more useful card instead of him.
My opponent proceeds to play Bast, then Mr Negative and Magik. So I stuck down Sandman as soon as humanly possible and walked away with 8 cubes.
I felt bad for stopping whatever he was planning but thems the breaks

@cosmicfuzz
Ominus Rex here, I'm so sorry for that match!!
I threw together a deck of un-upgraded cards to get boosters and the trolling just happened due to the locations.
I'm really not a cunt!

Not a bug I know about. A lot of the early cards are your core tech cards for sealing with certain effects like ongoing, on reveal, big numbers etc. As you go up you pools it becomes more about cards that enable other stuff rather than power pushes and start to have whacky effects. When people are searching it means they still don't have the card unlocked but want it for a particular deck/playstyle they're playing. As examples to some of the effects the cards have .. Anim Zola will destroy a card at a location and dupe it at the other 2. Ultron is a 6/8 body that fills the other locations with 1/1 bots. Great if you've already set the bots to be buffed. I'm after brood which is like squirrel girl in that it spawns additional cards but they're on the same location instead of across each location. Someone is after mystique which copy's the ongoing power of the last card played. Right up to Galactus that will destroy the other 2 locations leaving just the one.

Already some solid explanations of how it works in the last few posts, but to add, it's also worth taking a look at marvelsnapzone.com/collection/It show's you which cards unlock when, and what they do. And if you create an account, you can select which cards you have, and filter to show what you are missing. You can also see collections of other users decks for inspiration

Never encountered that bug. They give you a good base of competitive cards at the start that will see play even in endgame. There have been some new cards that have proven to be overtuned but since they are truly rare in that not everyone can get it when it releases, they have time to adjust it before it sees more general play.

Cool, I get this game now. It’s an alarming time sink, isn’t it? Not helping with my Marvel fatigue but the core gameplay is great fun.
Now I’ll watch myself trade consistency for flashy jank like I always do. Out with Quicksilver and Domino, in with Colossus and Deathlock. Why am I like this?

It's the best way, just play everything to start with so you earn boosters and work out what the cards do and the synergies

Yeah, don’t stress about rank for the first month or so. Get the collector levels, build your collection, learn the deck archetypes. It all resets in a couple of weeks anyways.

Managed to claw my way up to rank 66, personal best so far. Will see how far i can get past 70 in last week of the season but will be happy enough if i top out there. Having a steamroller Shuri Zero deck has helped a ton, if my turn 4-5-6 combos are on it flattens most people if they don't have counters.

So this is Gwent with ADHD basically, isn’t it. The interface is waaaay too busy and jumpy, all the Youtube guides are also hosted by obnoxious faux-manchildren. It’s like watching a sugar rush.
But I’ve got most Pool One cards unlocked now and I’m having fun with it. Is it free all the way through?

Yeah there is no reason to spend money at all. The season packs will be added to the pool 5 cards 2 months after theve been in season so can just be picked up in regular play eventually.
Every month or so a couple of pool 4 and 5 cards eventually stagger down making them easier to get.
I bought the initial cap America thing and Ive bought the season packs. I usually do that at the end of the season when Ive played it a bunch and know it'll unlock a load. I figure I've had a good few hours out of it I don't mind paying.

I'll be buying the season pass next week too. So much unlocking to do!
Season passes are good for gold, credits and boosters as well, which can allow you to buy bundles with the gold if you save it, and the credits and boosters will help you increase your collection level

Not to obnoxious and does alternative options for decks that you might miss cards for. My advice if you need it. Would be to pick an archetype and stick to it. At least at the beginning. Don't be afraid to throw in some of your own choices because alot of the popular decks are easy to read. So chucking in a curveball will help you.

It's tempting. Not spending my gold on anything so could be useful. Holding out in case the mystique bundle is a gold purchase or real money.

Tuesdays are like a ritual for me at this point. Make sure I've got 6 missions ready to go in the morning and get through at least 4 of them while I'm having breakfast, then smash through the rest in the evening for a good headstart to the week.
I guess you can add Token Tuesday to that if it's a regular thing now.
