Do you know what, I used to hate hobnobs and now I like them. Weird how opinions can change. I prefer plain Hob Nobs, the chocolate ones are shit! I honestly don’t understand the love for them, I love chocolate digestives but NOT choc Hob Nobs. |

I explained how I read 5 pages online of 2 people arguing about Silent Hill 2 remake , one loves it , the other doesn’t like it but likes the puddles . This followed by talk of tugging each other off and something about biscuits !

Well, at the risk of marginalising biscuits: this game is fucking excellent. I finished work late and was tired so thought I probably wouldn't play. I did decide to check out the opening 5 minutes. Here I am 90 minutes later in Wood Side Apartments.
The best thing about the experience - apart from the fact it's an excellent game in the first instance - is that nothing so far feels overly familiar; it feels totally fresh in terms of exploration and encounters. I don't know if that's my poor memory - I played through 3 or 4 times but 20+ years ago - or testament to how they've approached it.
It looks gorgeous, the soundtrack (and its absence) is great, it's creepy as fuck and completely engaging.
In the interests of balance...I suppose interacting with objects is slightly more fiddly than it needs to be? This is a minor annoyance for the most part.
As I said, fucking excellent. I don't want to stop playing. Curse work in the morning!

I think I'm nearly done with Blue Creek Apts and I won't be sorry. Constantly on edge throughout, every encounter a panicked flail in the dark. At one point something whispered loudly in my ear* which resulted in me just putting the controller down and scrolling on my phone for a couple of minutes until I could continue. They've either increased the fear factor of this by quite some extent, or I'm a bigger wuss than ever these days.
Probably both, with more emphasis on the latter. It's those legs. The lying figures I can cope with but it's the damn mannequins that run around just at the edge of your flashlight and then just hide somewhere, waiting for you.
* No, it wasn't my wife / son / dog

Started my playthrough at 5:30 this morning (only want to play when it is dark outside, so last thing at night/first thing in the morning will be the way I go), played for about 90 odd mins, just arriving at the Woodside apartments before I saved. Very impressed so far, as a huge fan (as a lot of us are, especially the first 3 games) of the series I am very happy.

I'm used to it now and my next playthrough I'll probably have it disabled just to change things up. I'm still not a huge fan of the vignette but I love the muted colour, the film grain and the weird TV effects. |

Dartboards...every game I play has poxy dartboards in lol  at least let us play! also spoiler for the start... so who walked in the "wrong" direction at the start! I did and popped a trophy! Rob from PSA on YT mentioned that this is something all gamers do, it's true I always do this at the start of a level/section |
