Watching it as usual. Belatedly though, having just got back from the gym.

Sadly, he's too cool to watch telly with us parental losers now, so this no longer happens. 😢

Watched last night. Was kind of predictable who would go and who would get star baker. Will had a bit of disaster of a time. Shame, as he seemed like a nice, entertaining chap.

Yes, Maxy is the hot one this year. Rebs was in competition, but I got distracted by her eyebrows about halfway through.

I hope everyone wants the former Boris Johnson project manager gone, although she seems like she might be good. She seemed a bit uncomfortable talking about it, which I couldn't work out was because she left hating him or she had seen Matt Lucas's Twitter account.

Maxy gets lovelier each week. Her, Sandro and the Polish guy for the final I reckon.

Not enjoying this series the same. The banter is puerile, the bakers are fine but boring and some of the challenges & themes are miles away from baking

Just watched. Yes, shame that Maxy left, as she was delightful throughout and clearly one of the best. I felt certain that she would be in the final from early on. Really bad week for her though and probably was the worst performing (her showstopper seemed a bit better than Sandro, but he came top in the technical whilst she was bottom).

Keep forgetting about Abdul and I can see him sneaking into the final, but he is most likely to go next week. Sandro is probably my least favourite of the final 4, but could see him coming top in the end.

I just wish they'd tone down the stale tropes a bit.

Do we really need the presenters saying 'on your marks get set bake' every time? Any chance they could announce the results without the 'wonderful job' 'horrible job' schtick?

Paul needs to retire the handshake, it's mental that he's effectively appointed himself higher status as a judge with a pope like blessing. Pru needs to stop pretending she's a functional alcoholic. Liking booze is not a personality trait.

More savory baking would be nice. Don't really understand why there's only one bread week each time. It's always the best one and it's a baking competition not a dessert competition.

Still quite like it overall, just needs a revamp as the formulaic bits are getting annoying. Doesn't necessarily have to involve changing presenters though Richard Ayoade would be ideal.

Read that yesterday, think it's more than a little OTT.

My personal take is that it's not perfect, but I still find it enjoyable and don't take it too seriously. A furore over cruelty confuses me, we're late in the competition now and the contestants have proved themselves better than some of what they've put out for judgement.
