Not sure if we have any Brighton fans on here, but it genuinely blows my mind that Shane Duffy is starting for any team in the PL. On loan at Celtic last year, has to be one of the most appalling footballers I have ever, ever seen (and that’s saying a lot coming from the SPL!). Not a single redeeming quality; pure pish. He scored a couple of goals at the start?. But yeah hopefully he won't be in the first team plans for too long, he formed a great partnership with dunk but doesn't really suit our ball playing style any longer. Great opening day win, had enough of outplaying teams for 89 minutes but losing, and especially pleased it's Burnley. Good for Maupay to get off the mark but definitely lacking firepower.. |

My little boy has massively got into football the past couple of months and absolutely can't wait to watch his first Newcastle march tomorrow. I've tried to explain to him what it's going to be like but he doesn't understand.

Very eased with the result today. United looked like they were enjoying themselves by and scoring scoring goals for fun. Obviously early days, that said, united, Liverpool and Chelsea all playing and winning well.
Hoping spurs can get something out of city next.

I feel the best chance of getting points off of city is probably playing them first game of the season before they have a chance to build any momentum. So I’m quite happy with the opening fixture.
That said I still think we’ll lose. Hopefully we can give it a bit of a go though and not just defend for 90 minutes.
