Shame around that period we lost a bit of bite. It didn't help we lost some experience in centre back, and midfield.

I always used to love seeing the Arsenal youth team playing the League Cup, there would be these amazing talents you knew would be breaking into the first team sooner rather than later

Wrong thread but Pep's comments on EFL Cup are more than a little disheartening. They can of course trot out a second string that virtually every other club would have as starters but still. Really not looking forward to Sunday, I know its Spurs but our progress this season seems to be we now have a decent defence (as long as we don't start with Maguire). We have all the same issues in attack, and buying the Love child of Lukaku and Weghurst has surprise surprise not fixed anything...

Promising injury news coming through.
White and Timber have trained today so should be available tomorrow. Merino has apparently resumed partial training (presumably non-contact) so is weeks rather than months away. I really feared we wouldn't see him until December, so that's a massive lift.
Meanwhile City have confirmed Rodri is out for the season and De Bruyne also not back. Decent opportunity for Newcastle to take advantage.

Genuinely pretty hyped to get a proper rivalry going with a Manchester club again. Miss the Wenger/Fergie glory days. Plus the whole Master/Apprentice thing adds to the narrative.
Need Gabriel to Keown Haaland after a missed pen at the Emirates.

A rivalry with a soulless, state-forged abhoration commanded by a man-baby, mostly at this point manufactured by a desperate media writing about dARk aRtS as if we're the first team in football history to stand in front of the goalkeeper at corners and go down with cramp at the end of a game.
We fucking hated United because they were also cunts, sure, but deep down there was begrudging respect there. This isn't the same. Won't ever be.
