Yeah this. The most vitriolic of city haters seem to be clubs hanging onto their coattails or United fans. Speaking as a fan of a club out in the freezing cold, whose had its nose pressed up for years to the window of the premier league, looking on longingly at everyone burning cash…we’re like ‘oh cry me a fucking river’ when one mega club complains about another mega club having too much money. And yes, I’m as morally bankrupt as the next football fan by the fact I’d be just as happy as them if we ever made it to the promised land. I dunno, I'm pretty pissed off especially considering my club were punished for one fairly brief breach. Definitely wanted Arsenal to win the league.
I mean look at this:
You guys (Forest right?) got done for a relatively simple overspend, whereas the City thing is much more complicated - even more so given the shenanigans their legal team are getting up to. I wanted arsenal to win it too, but more for the drama than any hatred of city. I can appreciate what they’ve achieved and how they’ve done it - after all they’ve not spent that much more than other clubs, and in one case maybe even less, but they’ve just done it better and assembled a startlingly good football team coached by the best manager of his generation, maybe even ever. But I can think that AND also accept they’ve been up to no good behind the scenes, and be curious to see how it plays out - hell, if they are relegated as a punishment, that’ll be fun to watch too.

Man City haven't gotten away with anything yet to be fair, and Forest overspent by a good 50% of their alloted figure, unless I'm mistaken?

I really like pointless stats. Havertz has scored more Premier League goals than Drogba did in the 2004/05, 2005/06, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2014/15 seasons. Sleep well lads. I know I will. My favourite pointless Havertz stat is that he's younger than Nketiah. Just doesn't seem possible.

Obviously, we have no way of proving it either way, but I think most neutrals would still rather see United lose. I don't think most fans outside of the top six are anywhere near as bothered by City as most of you are. It’s true. I find it hard to care cos we’re not competing with them. I was far more bothered when we were missing out on promotion whilst Wolves were caning the Championship having somehow managed to acquire the entire Portuguese national squad for a fiver and convince them to play in the second tier. People care far more about injustices that affect them.

Does everyone down in League 2 hate the celebrity financial doping Wrexham have done? I know the Gateshead fans I know were really annoyed at the love they were getting for bringing League 1 players down to the National League

Man City haven't gotten away with anything yet to be fair, and Forest overspent by a good 50% of their alloted figure, unless I'm mistaken? But for an obvious profit and sustainability reason that the club were open about and for a brief 2 month period, hard to say that it had a huge material effect on our league position. City meanwhile, interesting use of the word 'yet' - I'd counter that they have got away with it *so far*, with no obvious indication that that will change.

It should be a bigger shock than it feels. Its mad how badly Bayern seem poised to repeat the Spurs summer of Nuno. They’re Bayern Munich, they should be able to get basically anyone they want and it feels like their only plan was poach Alonso and now they’ve got nothing.

Wasn't Kompanys biggest issue is that he was trying to play decent football with shit players. Not sure he would be having those troubles at Bayern, although I don't think they will take him.

Kane’s never coming back until after his playing days unfortunately.
And we had the majority of his best years anyway so much more to be thankful for what we had rather than what we lost. Much like Bale…
I’m hoping we can do better with a striker solution than Toney though (good player but I would rather see a younger high quality player brought in ahead of him).

Toney probably makes a lot of sense if the price is right. We’ve got a load of promising academy players but they are a few years away. Getting in a proven PL goal scorer in the meantime is a good idea. I doubt we’ll match Brentford’s valuation though.
Hopefully we can do what we did last year and move on to other targets rather than ‘negotiating’ all summer.

To be honest I’d be happy with Richi if he wasn’t injured all the bloody time.

Rishi we'll give you cheap oil and gas if you let Man City win the league a few more times. I'm joking, but I feel it ain't far from the truth...

Yep, managing to get the Affordable Care Act passed is just the same as managing a football team.

Yeah they looked well set up and played some decent stuff in the games against us, which maybe isn't a great barometer. Just lacked proper quality players.

Seems far too big a jump to join a club as demanding as Bayern are, especially off the back of a disappointing season.

As promising as Kompany looks, it is a big step up and I can't imagine the fans would be best pleased...
