Might as well just call relegation now. Burnley and Luton both seem to have given up.

Brentford - Fulham sounded like a classic for the ages.

It's a pen, but one of those where the defender really needs to be more aware of players around him

Blegh. This is what I meant. It’s just inevitable. Might win those next two games and City will just do the same and finish 2 points clear.
Bloody Villa and Fulham results.

We seem to tune in every week to watch the refs not the football Swear the refs have gone backwards since VAR.

Possibly, but the way the other two are playing that “hold my beer” would need to be a “hold my beer whilst we get our docked points extended to 8” for it to make any difference, cos the other two aren’t getting anything else.

Enjoyed the game a lot today. All felt a little nervy in the ground, but in truth, it needn't have. Played well, created chances galore. Not seen the pen back, looked a foul from the other end though. Same as Bournemouth's disallowed goal. I think the onfield decision is what was crucial. Excruciating experience with VAR in the ground though. No communication, screens crap. Just awful. Gutted Gabriel's goal was disallowed, he'll never hit as sweet a strike. Saka, Odegaard and Rice all excellent again. But as askew says...all futile.

Futile because the cheats are like seven year old me playing FIFA on amateur and pretending like it's real when nobody else has a chance.
But we've not been this lucky in terms of watching incredible football for ages. It's been great entertainment this year. And I love this team. That's about all we've got left.

It's a pleasure watching our games right now in a way that it's not been for nigh on 20 years. We're a competent, entertaining side and there's a sense that everyone from owner down is doing everything they can. What follows the Arteta era may not be as good. In 97/98 we won 10 in a row to seal the title which was a PL record at that time and enough to go from fifth to first, finishing on 78 points. Mad how much the bar has raised. City have a 100% record in April/May title races under Pep, seeing as when Liverpool won it, it was already over in early March so there wasn't one. Statistically this Arsenal side is one of the best PL teams ever (ignoring the two blue teams with pending charges). Might not be good enough to win the title, but can still be proud and enjoy it for what it is.

Back-to-back associate champions. Watching MotD: could do with somebody of Haaland's efficiency in the Wolves game.

Listening to Ange talk about drastic changes, I wonder who he has in mind. I think he had high hopes for Bissouma but he hasn’t been able to keep up the pace. He could be a surprise one. Hoj will definitely go, and probably some other fringe players like Royal etc.
I guess Richi could be another one. We really need a DM and a striker.

I reckon you'll be selling Son. Probably get decent money for him still as well.
Old Utd would have been all over that for megabucks too, hopefully the new regime steers clear.

Neco Williams was charged by the FA for saying that top 6 teams would get all 3 penalties we were denied against Everton. Watching yesterday's City and Arsenal games nicely underlines his point frankly.

I was wondering about Son. But then thought, surely not. I just think the fan backlash would be too much. He does seem to be struggling though.

Just watched MoTD. The pen is soft and bought for sure, but those have been given for years. It's called "clever play" when England's Captain does it.

And it's not given when smaller teams do it.
Look at the one on McNeil on Friday. How the fuck was that not given? The Luton defender stamped on his foot! There's absolutely no way in a million years that isn't given if it's on Saka, Foden or Salah.

Don't disagree at all. Although old habits die hard, teams are still allowed to kick 10 barrels of shit out of Arsenal players. The one on Saka yesterday was a shocker and not even a card.

I wish Saka was entities to the sort of protection the Big 6 are apparently meant to be getting from refs. He in particular has had some horrendous tackles go unpunished this season.

Yesterday's looked nasty. But he's got a rep for the dive which probably goes against him.

I don’t think I’ve really seen him dive much, but I don’t watch all the time. Yesterday’s was nasty, but i I don’t think there was a lot of intent in it. I’ve seen a lot of potential leg breakers that don’t get punished just because they don’t make contact. That being said there probably wouldn’t have been too many complaints if he’d been sent off. I really like Saka though. Great player and seems like a nice kid. The sooner he leaves Arsenal the better
