For a start they wouldn't paint every single human face looking like a melting ghoul. Why not, though? It's art. This thing does a very specific kind of art. Can it do general fine art? No. But it's still a neat art experiment that can create interesting pictures, even if you might not like them. I'm just not sure why you are so obsessed with bad mouthing it. Everybody who plays 2 minutes with it realizes its shortcomings, but it seems most people besides you are still able to get some interesting output. |

My point is that it's not just decently entertaining. It's art. There is no requirement to be able to make correct looking faces for it to be called art. It also doesn't have to compete with a human artist.
But yeah, the discussion about whether or not something is art usually doesn't lead to a satisfying conclusion.
