My issue with Twitter isn't seeing tweets myself as I don't use it, it's more the shitheads using it spread dangerous ideals and misinformation in general.

Twitter have been aggressively 'promoting' related tweets for a while based on your interactions, certainly in the main timeline. If you use a third-party client you tend to get a nicer experience. An improvement is to either use Lists or Communities as these are untainted right now.

Weird, I never get related tweets, I only get ads that have a promoted tag.

I rather miss the "targeted" ads like Lockheed-Martin trying to sell me defence systems.

Never looked into it before but surely there are Twitter readers (be it software or website) which can pull in feeds from the api for you to read in your own environment, rather than have to go the Twitter itself and be forcefed the shite on there? Or do they block that kind of thing? There are sadly a handful of accounts who I would like to follow who only post on Twitter (mainly gaming and crypto). There are plenty of third party Twitter clients out there (I use one) but they're forced to use an old API so don't have access to newer things like polls, and they used to have limited API keys so a hard limit on the number of users (not sure if this is still the case) The benefits are I see no ads or promoted tweets, and they're more customisable then the official client

All (well most) the value in Tesla is supposed to be in the self driving tech. Not the cars themselves. I have US relocated friend who rattles on about self driving being the bees knees / the future. I just don't see it hardly working on UK roads. And anyway, car centric cities and design really need to disappear. US cities are awful. You mean the self-driving tech Tesla no longer offers, or the self-driving lorries and trucks that Musk has promised are right around the corner along with all the other vaporware bullshit?

Can't we capture this guy and put him into some sort of bear pit situation with James Corden? I reckon Corden would have him.

We had a thing in the Celebrity Hate thread about guys you know you could beat the crap out of. This nerd would get so many bog washes at my school.
Edit: to be fair I probably wouldn’t be the one doing it. I’d just be laughing from the hallway while some rugby guy did it.

Seems like the cunt everyone kicked in the bollocks whatever year they, or he, was in. We had a 15 y.o. mini tory at my school that was getting his nadgers sent to his lungs by 11 year olds on a weekly basis because he was just a total cunt. We kicked him out of the 40k club after 1 session 2(?) years prior to that

The numbers in that article were really something, about how Musk is going to have loss making twitter make an actual $1bn extra to pay off the debt he incurred for the purchase. Which is never going to happen.

He borrowed something like US 22 billion against his shares in Tesla for a total dud asset. There’s real potential here for his plan to turn Twitter into some all-consuming app to be his own Metaverse fuckup, I really don’t think anyone wants that shit except a few hundred thousand noisy trolls,

Oh man, I hope this is true:
I'll laugh myself into a coma if this new platform screws Twitter over.

“Dorsey wrote at the time that he believes with "all my heart" that Musk taking over was "the right path" for Twitter: "In principle, I don't believe anyone should own or run Twitter. It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company. Solving the problem of it being a company, however, Elon is the singular solution I trust. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness." news.yahoo.com/jack-dorsey-beta-testing-social-002959081.htmlJust gonna see how that plays out.

I like all the R Twitter accounts suddenly going “omg I’m no longer shadowbanned my reach has never been higher and my follower count is going up” and literally nothing changed. It’s a great example of their random made up victimhood.

70,000+ new sign ups to Mastodon yesterday. Quite the exciting time to be one of the 10,000 decentralised social media platforms.
Until next week when no one cares again.

I realised how strange it is, given I hate how basic mobile gaming is with its “tap button to automatically kill enemy” gameplay, yet I’m getting a deal of enjoyment out of posting encouragement to delete your twitter accounts everywhere and then racking up and blocking Muskovites who flock in to post “snowflake” with lesser AI than Space Invaders.
I guess we’re all made more stupid by this brave new world.

My mate ‘left’ twitter when the bid was first announced and went to mastodon. He was back barely a fortnight later. The solution is to just leave full stop rather than migrate to a much worse app because, as that verge article pointed out, the problem isn’t the technology or the platform, it’s that people are just twats online.
