Pretty much all the really classic Mega Drive games were released on the first one, and the Mega CD wasn't exactly bursting with killer games.
That said, if it includes Snatcher, Road Avenger and Another World: Heart of the Alien that might convince me.
or chuck some 32X games in there. I mean it's probably less iconic than the Mega CD even, but the 32X version of Virtua Racing was pretty cool, and better than the Megadrive version, which was a novelty but not that great.
(Sonic CD I don't really care much about at all. It's just not as good as 1, 2 or 3&Knuckles.)

I wonder who Sega needs to contact for some of those games.
Like say, Mansion of Hidden Souls was published by Sega in Japan, which makes things easy, but in the USA it was published by Vic Tokai, and I have no freaking idea who owns the rights to that version now.

Really wish we had a Saturn Mini already though. Although there's no way it'd satisfy most gamers since there's so many on it that something would inevitably be missing.

I don't really agree. It'd maybe be missing some shoot em ups, and a bit of the more obscure fighting games, but it'd have a solid selection even just focusing on Sega and Capcom's libraries alone.
Although on the RPG front, you'd have a similar issue as the one you mentioned with Vic Tokai, only it'd be Working Designs they'd have to work around.

This will be my second mini, as having decided it was a major oversight on my part not to have bought the mini 1, I grabbed one from eBay at the same time as pre ordering this. It arrived about 30 minutes ago and it really is lovely. Even if I never plug it in, I reckon I'll have got my money's worth just putting it on a shelf and staring at it occasionally. Even the box is nostalgic. |

What's this never done version of Space Harrier about? The OG space harrier was never ported to the mega drive, they only made Space harrier II. Although its not listed in the games for the mini 2, the re made version of Space Harrier II also includes a port of Space harrier 1. As has been said they use some kind of sprite scaling, not sure how this has been achieved, it is possible in software on the MD and there are examples so it would be nice if these games are doing that and would run on real hardware too. |
