Yeah, I'm going to predict middling scores across the board, tbh. It'll probably be "okay"; competent but ultimately poorly received.
I hear there's also some non-Caucasian characters in it as well -- might not even be male! -- so the baying anti-Woke mob will be mustering.

Biggest negative I’ve come across is that you can’t be an Interveilactic Fantasy Bastard. No “Press R2 to slice speakers head clean off” renegade actions. Boooo.

From the bits I've read it sounds like a great game in its own right but if you're expecting Dragon Age: Origins 2 you'll be disappointed.

Yeah. I just flicked through some of that video above. Dialogue felt a bit cringe in places. Combat looks pretty hyperactive too. Definitely a very different game to the first now.

From the bits I've read it sounds like a great game in its own right but if you're expecting Dragon Age: Origins 2 you'll be disappointed. I think Bioware would never do Origins 2, I was never even expecting a game like inquisition. Watching skillup review is enough for me
One thing I have to call out the toxic veilguard nutters, any negative review from a site or main stream YT is seen as "clickbait or incel". If these people ever get out of their parent's basement they might be a danger to the public or fucking park benches  |

Apparently a lot of outlets that had concerns or criticisms from the preview didn't get review copies.
The Skill Up review is certainly pretty negative.

Yeah to go from extremely positive to extremely negative was a head fuck. Obviously they're just opinions the only thing that made me pause is to say "the best Bioware game I've ever played". That kind of comment, written down feels like it's going to age poorly. |

That SkillUp review is by far the most brutal I've seen from him (and one of the reasons I like his content so much is that he doesn't engage in mindless hyperbole, so that's saying something).
He was more positive about Final Fantasy XVI than Veilguard - albeit barely - which, again, is quite the statement.
