I feel very sorry for anyone in London who relied on MCE to be able to ride a motorbike. Must suck hugely. I got out on Wednesday for the first time this year to ride the new Multistrada V2S. It’s very good. youtu.be/3HHyOQ88vnE

Probably shouldn't tell them you were leaving it parked on the street in Tottenham with the keys left in.
That is ridiculous though.

The best thing about having a motorbike in London is being able to use it to leave.

How do I convince Mrs (soon to be ex) Danno that this is a good idea.
I should just wait it out I guess.

Leaving London or getting a motorbike? 😁 She's off to Ipswich. I can't go because of my cat (apparently parrots are ok, despite that little knifeface shit destroying the finish on 1 guitar amp, 1 guitar case and my Marshall speaker) Work is getting stupid about 'absenteeeism'/presenteeism, and im looking at 1hr 50m on public transport - having to either take 3 buses or go into and then out of Central London - vs a 24min drive, and probably less on a bike since I can skip a lot of the North Circular hassle

Tell her you’re getting a bicycle and show her the “safety gear” then show her what full armoured motorbike leathers looks like

I finally found what I wanted, Honda CBF 125 that I can fit easily in my shed, solid condition but uncared for 2009 model for £600, mot'd it Saturday after a little clean, serviced the front brake and tightened the chain. Already offered £800 but maybe I can make enough to help me buy a Honda CB125 Super Dream 80's motorbike. I got a 125 Yamaha scooter for shopping etc that stays out my back garden and want to get a Super Dream 125, or if I pass my test the 250 every steel worker around here had for work when I was growing up.

I’ve finally pulled my finger out and put a deposit on a 1290 Super Adventure S. Hopefully collect it tomorrow and can do some dodgy power wheelies on the way home. I’ve been bikeless since July and my mental health definitely knows about it!

Update: I've got it. It's hilarious. Takes far less effort to be a twat on than my Hypermotard did, and the radar cruise is perfect for average speed limits. Need to get heated grips (they're backordered for months), the heated seat and a few protection bits, but I'm happy as larry. What a silly machine. I think if I stuck a few bricks in the top box it'd power wheelie in fifth…

Too busy with work at the moment, needs an MOT and service which is booked for June. Just got some new Rokker jeans which I’m keen to try out this summer though

I’ve been riding more than at any point since I had kids! Cranking out about 2-3 videos on the YouTubes per week at the mo. Really loving my KTM still, it mixes long-distance comfort and third-gear wheelies really well. It’s elsewhere at the mo while I test a Tuono V4. I’ve been given clearance to do a quick bike trip as well later in the year which I can’t wait to plan, despite it only being four days.

Mine is in the shop. After the near death miss on the motorway with the blown fuse etc they simply said it was probably a battery issue so replaced that. I refused to accept that, so they are doing an additional battery of tests, and the mechanic has promised to take it for a longer spin on the motorway today, if all good I will try to get it shipped down this week.
Really miss it, rain, summer, winter I don’t care, I am on it at least three times a week, so really suffering withdrawal.

Oh, and I bought one of these bad boys for summer. After last years heat stroke incident I am looking forward to more comfortable (while still safe) summer rides. Sure comfortable and safe, I really like these. www.planet-knox.com/product/urbane-pro-shirt-mk2/

Fuck. Garage says a dead battery is the issue, so 250 in repairs etc, then I need to pay 150 to get it shipped to me. Cunting fucking areshole shitballs. Was really not expecting that and was assuming would be under warranty.
FUCK!!!!

Question, is a headlight change something I should really be able to do myself or better to take to a garage? Owners manual has nothing, and videos for my bike make things seem fiddly/complicated.

Depends on the bike, it can be fairly straightforward. See if there’s any YouTube vids for your bike. On mine it’s a plastics off, 2 hour headache for example

It depends on how good your electrical and mechanical skills are and what the actual job is... If you're doing a like for like replacement, it should be reasonably easy, although bikes do tend towards the fiddly. If you are changing the unit completely, it'll be a bit more complex and then if you are putting a completely different unit in (eg, changing shape etc) you might want to look very carefully about fittings and brackets, unless you fancy drilling new mountings.
That said, you can probably change a battery yourself for about 30 quid. Sorry.

Cheers. I'll watch some more videos, um and ah over for a bit before going to a garage in six months when it starts to get dark.

So after trying to kill me on the motorway my bike was in the shop for 3 weeks. £250 repairs, £150 transport costs and my bike is home with 100% guarantees that it is all fixed, stop worrying and pinky swear it won’t try to kill me.
Took for a test spin on Wednesday and was fine. Did first proper ride today, half hour in and the fucker cuts out middle of the road.
Honda are getting a very very very strongly worded letter about this. Frankly I want a full refund on the bike, I don’t care I have had it 18 months, this shit is so fucking dangerous, especially after 3 weeks in the shop I am just unbelievably angry (and shaken up)

So back in the saddle again as I'm no longer working from home and....none of you motherfuckers nod when passing any more? Was there a memo during lockdown I missed or something. Grumpy sods.
