Is that the best the comparison sites offer? Yikes, I paid less in my first year riding

Accidentally clipped one of my mirrors with my hip as I was walking around the front of it and broke something :/. £140 for a replacement mirror stung a bit.
Got my driving test coming up next week so the RSV4 will be gone soon. Must admit that I'm quite looking forward to warm commutes and slowing things down a bit but I will miss it. I'll return to biking when owning both a car and a bike makes more financial sense.

You might think twice if your NCD disappears after 2 years

Got a cbt refresher and some mod1 training on Friday, before doing the rest later in the month. Really hope it all goes smoothly. The long commute on a 125 got boring quite quickly, as well as feeling very vulnerable at times.

Well done though, Mod 1 was by far the toughest part I found, just the nerves of putting a foot down for instant fail mainly. Mod 2 was a doddle, pretty sure the examiner makes his mind up in the first couple of minutes so just relax and have a nice ride out

Congrats dude!
My bike has been stuck in Bournemouth last few weeks. Too nervous with my panic attacks to do a 150 mile ride. Ended up paying for courier to bring it back up to London. Being delivered tomorrow, after which I plan to ride daily on increasing distances.

I'm being a total fairweather rider. my bike is about to go under it's cover until next year
I really want a new bike (currently a 2006 Yamaha R6) but until we have a house with a garage it's just a pipe dream

Gawds, all this talk of mod1 mod2 makes me feel old. I passed my bike test in 1992... It was a little quiz and some number plate reading whilst we had a smoke, then I rode around for 20 minutes with the bloke behind me until he signalled me to pull over and said "you've passed, let's have a fag" and that was it. Regarding fairweather, it's time and past time for my bike to go back on the road after an 18 month absence for knee issues, but I'm waiting until the new year. It's going to need a service, MOT and a chain and sprockets anyway. There's this guy I meet walking the dog keeps telling me he's going to be selling his really, really nice 88' Heritage Softail soon. If he ever lets me know a price, I might be sorely tempted.

Congrats!
Failed my driving test(first roundabout I came to about 100m from the test centre, rush hour traffic, went for a gap when I saw one but the examiner thought it was unsafe, immediately went back to the test centre! Spoke to at least 5 other people who know someone who failed on that roundabout) so I'm on the Aprilia for a bit longer but I've got another test on the 1st.

Very nice. Everyone should have a lurid green Kwak once in their riding career.

Chucked my bike up on eBay yesterday. It's only about 1500 off my asking price already with 6 days left. Selling bikes stresses me out so I can't wait to get it over and done with and start looking at cars.
I've been using my parents Yaris since passing my test and I can't wait to see the back of that. Got panicky and stalled at the entrance to a busy roundabout yesterday and the car was is so quiet that I couldn't tell if I managed to turn over the ignition or not.

I sold my bike back in July but never replaced which turned out to be a good thing given I headed into redundancyville at the start of December.
Fingers crossed I’ve something lined up for next year and I can go KTM shopping in March…

First good news in ages. Started off bad. MCE went bust, insurance cancelled as a result and I lose 5 months no claims. At least get a refund on the £600 policy. Was furious, but nothing can be done.
Went to get the new insurance today, a company called MCE has given it to me for £250.
Worried it is MCE again, but so cheap for once. Annoyingly my crash comes off 7 days into the policy so probably could have been cheaper.

MCE here too, lost 6 months of no claims progress which is annoying. Went with them again though as the price was too keen. Carol Nash select was close but the excess was almost double and nothing was included, not that I’d ever use the extras tbh. AA quoted me £24000 which was tempting, but after much soul searching I gave MCE my 230 quid for cover. They’re just a broker now, it was their underwriting arm that went bust so should be fine for a year at least
