Recently bought a modded gba (ips screen) and delving into that library. Hooked on Astroboy already.

The GBA SP was a lovely little machine. Especially the metallica blue one and gold Zelda one. Cor

I have a modded GBA with an IPS screen, has a SNES outer shell too, looks mint. Only got a couple of decent games for it but hoping to change that, too many fake cartridges on eBay though

I only have a couple of legit games so far (Super Mario Bros 3 & Super Mario Land). I did buy an ezflash omega cart and have some games on that. Definitely want to slowly build up a bit of a proper collection though.

Astro Boy is one of the GBA's underrated gems. Such a great library that little console has.

Unfortunately retro game collecting has gone much more expensive. Kind of prices me out a lot of stuff.

Agree. I don't want a big collection, but there are a few things I'd like. They're just so expensive though.
As for GBA the Advance Wars games are great. I wish I could afford some of the DS ones.

Got an Evercade on the way. Most interested in playing and actually completing a Dizzy game, which I never managed as a kid.

I'm still trying to mod all my original consoles rather than buy more, threw a 500GB HDD in my PS2 a few months ago and now got to get sd card support on my Saturn and Dreamcast but that costs a little more to do.
Also I really want a mini Amiga 500, my posh friend was the only kid who had one.

I've got Advance Wars: Dual Strike on the shelf behind me. Boxed and pretty much perfect condition, but opened which I assume destroys any value?

Not worth a huge amount, £20-30 CIB. Saw a US copy go for £11 yesterday but missed the end of the auction so I didn't bid on it. Factory sealed is probably £50-60

I've got a bunch of old DS games I don't mind sticking in the post to a good (UK) home. I'm never going to use them again and doubt I can be arsed with the effort and aggro of eBay. All opened but in very good condition. Honestly had no idea people were still interested in them. Can do a list if people want.

I'd be very interested. The DS is the main system I collect for, and probably my favourite system ever.

They're a mix of US and EU - at the time the DS was handheld top-dog, my job took me to the US a lot. The DS is region free, but I know the region can affect the value of retro games.
999 Nine Hours Nime Persons Nine Doors (US) Advance Wars: Dual Strike (EU) Aliens: Infestation (EU) Chrono Trigger (US) Final Fantasy III (US) Final Fantasy IV (US) Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (US) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fates (US) Dragon Quest XI (US) Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded (US) Pokemon White (EU) Scribblenauts (EU) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (US) The World Ends With You (EU)

I'd check eBay prices before giving those away, some of those are seriously collectible now.
Chrono Trigger usually goes for £80-£100 CIB these days. Aliens Infestation is around £50. TWEWY £60-£80. SMT Devil Survivor £60
I mean, even CEX will give you £50 cash for Chrono Trigger.

Seriously?
I've been holding onto an open-but-mint US copy of Rule of Rose, because I know the prices on that are going up and up. Hadn't clocked that some DS game prices were going mad. May try a few of these with CEX. At a tenner, I'm tempted to go "meh". £50 is getting more serious.

Pokémon as well, prices are insane at the moment. If you had Heartgold or Soulsilver CIB with the Pokewalker you're looking at £150, more if it's mint
I'd be interested in buying Advance Wars off you, don't have that one

Looks like a few of these are serious money, going off the CEX website.
You can have Advance Wars for free, for tipping me off for this. Drop me a PM (we have a forum that can do PMs!) with a delivery address and I'll post in the next few days.

Oh wow, that's amazing. Thank you! I really don't know what happened with DS games over the last year, looks like I'm not the only one collecting them these days as prices are nuts.
I bought a boxed SNES Edition New3DS XL from CEX for £150 last year, they're selling them for £325 now

How much do you want for Aliens Infestation? CEX says they pay £19 cash, so that would do.

Prices have been going up dramatically for the past 18 months across the retro gaming scene, I suspect due to lockdowns giving people the time to take up a hobby. Select DS, GBA, Dreamcast and GameCube games in particular have absolutely sky-rocketed.
I've got an Amiga A500, but had put off getting an A1200 for ages, but the prices have now shot up to stupid money for a half decent machine. Some Amiga games are close to a grand to buy now as well. It's insane.
And now with Mario64 fetching 1.5 Million and Super Mario Bros fetching 2 Million at auction in the past month you can expect people to trying pushing prices up even further.
Edit: My biggest regret is giving away my original A500 in my early 20s with all my games - all boxed in perfect condition - some of which are now worth a small fortune lol

A girl I know in a local uni went crazy and spent a few hundred on not very much 3DS gear earlier this year, mostly pokemon.

Tried playing a Pokémon last night and I can honestly say I don't think they're games for me. Just got sick of the constant stops for battles.
Currently just faffing with retro arch on my laptop.
