I've got 11 (working) days of my current job left and as you can imagine, there's a reluctance on both parts to start anything new in the intervening time. I'm doing a few little bits here and there, making sure documentation is done and systems are properly handed over. Therefore, today, I have: Walked the dog for a couple of hours out on the fields in the middle of nowhere Had a workout in the gym in the garage Done a load of weeding, turned the soil and put down some bark chips on my Mrs' rose patch by the dining room window Answered a couple of emails Not a bad day. Gotta do change board later, but otherwise, I might sit in the sun with my guitar and a big mug of tea.

Still on holidays here, did a bit of tidying around the house and took a couple of loads of rubbish to the bins. Had lunch and just cleaned out a freezer, SpongeBob soon and given the success that was yesterdays power nap I may just try for another.

DIY and gardening this morning. Replaced the rotten battens on the summerhouse roof, will seal and paint at some point. Then chopped down half the branches from a tree in my neighbour's garden that is over hanging ours. Can't quite reach the higher branches and was over stretching on the ladder as it was. Just off out play some mini-golf. Might squeeze in a trip to the pub if possible.

Went and got a car for our daughter and I test drove a used Scirocco while I was there. Powerful but a bit too squirrely for me. It was losing traction accelerating in a straight line. Sticking to a TT or an MX5.

My wife and I went out for a meal last night for the first time in at least 6 months, binning the kids off to the grandparents. We had to come home straight after the meal at 9.30pm as my wife had stomach ache and I then promptly fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours!

Somehow I've managed to spend about 7 hours largely undisturbed in the garage rebuilding and lining the old workbench with new plywood today (about 3/4 done), really enjoyable, even the kids have generally not been dicking about too much.
I've been looking to get a table saw as I think it'd be pretty useful over the next few years, wondering if I should spend about £60 on a second hand one that would have cost about £140 but may regret it if it's not very good new or I should just spend about £300 on a new one that'll obviously be better.

Dug up an apple tree that the fuckwitted previous owner planted right in front of a bay window. Had a quick mooch around town and a haircut, then a disappointing pub lunch.
Just spent the past three or so hours either in a hammock or on a swing seat enjoying the glorious sunshine.
I bloody well love long weekends!

Went 10 pin bowling with the kids this morning, then an impromptu BBQ with some friends this afternoon/evening. Top day after a very stressful 2 weeks.

Why the TT?... Taking up cutting hair in your spare time?

Haha, beat me to it. I don't even know why that's a thing, but apparently it is.

But I just want something fun to drive to work and not a 350hp mad thing that will probably kill me.

Yeah, that's fair enough. What about a nice GT-R instead?

Had a shower, played pitch and putt, had lunch, cut the lawn, watched St Helens vs Wigan, did the ironing, did some weights, drunk some beer, watched some TV, wrote this post

Taking the kids back to their mum's today. Has been great spending so much time with them, even if I had to work last week. Gonna miss the little buggers.
Was meant to be seeing my ladyfriend but she's had to cancel, so I could either clean my flat or spend all day in my pants playing Elden Ring 🤔

Left the lawn so long I lost track of the cable when I was mowing it and went straight through it. Bang, all the electrics go off, the wife is working from home so she’s lost her mind and the lawn is stuck with a rather fetching Mohican until the shops open.
So that went well.

Do you have power back?

Yeah, the box tripped when the mower blew so I just reset it. But she was in the middle of an edit so not massively pleased. And lord save me from looking at lawnmower roombas

Nice long walk followed by a cheeky pint and lunch at a Riverside pub, then back home for a bit of gardening. Just filled our garden waste bin with mint and random other stuff that's growing around our compost heap. Mint is an absolute fucker to get rid of... The root network is immense! Think I'll look at weedkiller to get rid of any that dares to poke its head up.
Relaxing in the sun now and wondering if it's too early to crack open a frosty beer.

I miss the student days off sitting around at weekends doing fuck all.
Today I’ve been to see an Easter bunny fly in, look for some plastic eggs and sit on a bus from 70 years ago for ten minutes as it drove in circles. Next I’m cutting some grass for peace.
Next weekend I’m going to peppa pig world.

Easter egg hunt for the little one this morning, followed by a lovely dog walk in the sun.
Now cooking some lamb on the bbq ready for dinner later.
