It is crap in the UK but you'd have to work very hard to persuade me to buy a house on the side of a volcano. That's why you hollow out the volcano. Tchoh!

I saw that show, Ben Fogle went to see a couple of Brits living on the side of a volcano that definitely will erupt in their life time. Even had the kids chopping wood. Life goals.

It was South America somewhere I think, they had donkeys doing the heavy lifting even. Looked nice to be fair.
But yes Iceland would do too.

Kind of hard to tell from here but the UK does look proper fucked, meanwhile this volcano has only erupted once in my lifetime, killing everyone and wiping out the entire town. Tory governments have wiped out dozens in that time.

Same as always, you’ve got to keep going forward to stay where you are. If you’re middle class it’s not too bad but if you’re not, you’re fucked.

Danno He had a shower and shampoo at the weekend. He still smells like a dog though, honestly.

Finally got around to install a new OS on my phone. Gone is the Samsung bloat. The phone is about 10x faster now, too, for some reason.

Nice. Lineage or something else?
I always hated the 10 minutes after a factory reset where you go through the app list and uninstall/disable over half of the crap they put on there.

Yeah, LineageOS 17.1 for my Samsung A3 2017. Unfortunately, I lost all my contacts. Apparently didn't have them synced, and also not on SIM card.

I’ve been in Wales for a couple of days - places such as Harlech, Criccieth and Nefyn - that part of the country needs some investment. It’s beautiful but there’s very little there, on the long drive home I was delighted to reach the relatively bright lights of Abergele so I could get some petrol and food
Now I’m back home I’m going to relax by assembling some flat pack furniture from IKEA

Had a migraine, then recovered a bit and played some ps5 and continued my build of the knock off Lego Razorcrest.
Good times.

Working only mornings this week and next, my employer lets me take off 1 days leave which I can spread over 5 days so that means working 8-2pm every day, though I did have to stay a bit later to get something out today but I'll get it back, home to take the sprogs for a swim, just got their dinners.

All phones should have the option of clean Android, though I know it will never happen. I've had clean Android/Android One phones for a few years now and there's no way I could ever go back. Sadly they seem to be getting scarcer, especially over here.

Very little today. Sorted out some care for my mum with the social worker and then hung around the house this afternoon. Spot of online poker, bit of tidying, cooked dinner etc. Feels quite decadent but definitely needed some time doing jack shit.

Sorted out care for your mum is a big thing. You deserve a bit of relaxation after that.

It is a big relief. She's been so resistant for ages. Knowing that soon someone else will (eventually) be checking in on her daily and doing stuff like changing the bedding that we can't always do is a big weight off.

And to think I had you nailed on for just YOLOing pork pies I had pepperoni pizza for iftar so you're not far wrong. Not eating is basically fine, I do intermittent fasting anyway so I'm OK with that, but not being able to drink is horrible. As is getting up at 3.50 for breakfast but, on the plus side, I've never eaten so much fruit in all of my life.

And obviously it's during Ramadan that my workload has gone from impractical to unmanageable. I'm seconded part-time into another organisation at the moment but that seems to mean I need to be doing a 54 hour week in practice.

Work for a college but still WFH presently. It's half term, my boss is on leave. I've no outstanding tasks to do. Just done day 4 of couch to 5k (recently single again, thought I should lose the gut before getting back on the pull). Now sat in front of work laptop with nothing to do and counting down until lunch time

If her experience is like my dad's, despite the initial resistance, she'll really enjoy the visits and the social side of it.
