Even the dust can get real grimy if left a long time. It compacts and turns into a very hard to shift film.
I do try to go round and blush brush the Lego every few weeks. Blow on it then brush. Treat it like watering the plants, although I’ve yet to kill a Lego set through neglect or over brushing

I found (or probably read somewhere) a great way to place stickers... dip them in water with a splash of washing up liquid and you can slide them around on the piece. Leave it to dry and they stay put.
A bit of a pain if the piece is concave though.

My life changed when I realized that the stickers are designed to be placed about 1mm from each straight edge they align with. Place it tue correct distance from edge of brick and they will line up perfectly. Handy on triangle and curved surfaces.

My nephew (and his mum) have built his Sonic set. He really likes it and it looks pretty cool but grumpy uncle thinks it's a rip-off 😁

Yeah that's just pish - there is no value to it. It's not accurate enough to work as a tool or for education or reference. It's not aesthetically pleasing as it is so angled. It's barely a globe.
What next? lego commemorative footballs?

Just bought the Central Perk set for the wife. It'll be her first set since she was a teenager, she looks well chuffed with it. Hubby win!

Yeah anything ball-like never turns out quite right.
Even stuff like the Death Star was pretty poor.

It looks ok to me. Who cares about Europe anyway. It's their own fault for having too many tiny countries packed close together. But then I've never gotten the point of Lego display pieces *ducks* Just bought the Central Perk set for the wife. It'll be her first set since she was a teenager, she looks well chuffed with it. Hubby win! although... maybe the point is to get your wife to accept all the geeky hobbies. This might actually work... Is there a Sex and the City set?

Took down the Lego Christmas village and put up the Chinese lunar new year sets. The latter are a cut above the former tbh (eventhough I loooove the Winter Village sets I have, Santas Sweatchop and the Toy Store)
I wish there was some other holiday themed sets that I could put up later in the year.

The thing is our Lego sets have been displayed in the diner end of a kind of kitchen/diner and consequently it's not just a layer of dust, there's clearly some (cooking) grease mixed in so it's stuck on and smears, I fear the only solution will be proper cleaning. The eldest had half a dozen small cars and other oddities on his window sill, I wrapped these loosely in a towel and their own box, when I opened the boot to get the boxes out to store at work his box feel out the boot onto the floor. Oh well. I have heard tales of success from people who have put the bricks in a laundry bag and then stuck them in the washing machine on a cool cycle. Never tried it myself though. More info here.

Having seen the launch photos for the Mclaren I'm underwhelmed. Maybe an F1 car has too many small elements to model accurately but the wings, side pods etc lacked definition. Interesting to see your take on things.

Ugh why have they done the wheels on the F1 car like that, they seem to match the concept car but not the actual track car.

Ahh well, what do I know, I think my interest in F1 faded in about 1996!

I don't really like the colour, and tbh I'd probably leave the hubcaps off, but it's still an impressive haul.
Are these ones you got yourself, Boo, or are you doing more reviewing?

I wonder what the wheels are like hidden behind them, at first I thought they may have done one of those slightly alternative builds where you can have normal wheels instead. Seems not.

Sorry for the subject change, I normally hate stickers, but against my better judgement I applied them to my Destiny's Bounty thinking it looked better at the time. Roll on a few years and I was looking at it in my display case and noticed all of them are peeling horriblly.
I've decided I'm going to remove them all. Does anyone have any good tips, or had any success removing them? I've tried Googleing but seems to have lots of conflicting or time consuming advice.
I'm ultimately looking for something relatively easy, like stripping old paint off Warhammer miniatures by soaking them in dettol 😅

I thought it looked like an extra cap on an otherwise normal technic wheel, a bit like those little round radar dishes (or umbrellas) that you can get?
