A year to wait until they're all out? I reckon the character pass will be on sale separately before then. Base version on CDKeys looking tempting.

They are dripping out regularly enough for it to be kind of worth just getting. I dont think it will be on sale until they are all out, even if the base game gets reduced. The char packs very rarely went down for SF5 until the next one was released.

Do we know pricing of the pass by itself or if you can buy characters individually?
If I'm still playing when they come out, then I'm probably not going to feel too awful about spending another £15-£20 on extra characters. Not being a massive fighting game person, just going with the base set at the moment likely makes more sense and not worry about saving a few quid on content I may or may not look at.

No pricing as of yet. I guess we'll hear soon enough, I mean the DLC is still in development as far as I know.

Will be interesting to see how Ed’s move set works with Modern as his moves in SFV pretty much were a prototype Modern.

Wait.. was Ed an actual prototype for Modern controls?
… ? ??
I think I’ve just blown my own mind.

I wish it was Dudley instead of Ed, but I understand why they've chosen that particular character.

A suit is fine but it’s the costumes for perverts that bring the money in

I'm sure EG is already prepping the article for how furiously masturbating over Cammy's costumes is empowering.

Or how they want Marisa to step on them.
Did you see the (very blurry) Akuma alt? Hahah. Also the video that this all came from was cool and all but I wish they did a deeper dive on it.

A question, about fighting games in general.
I cannot really help myself, but if a fighting game has a taunt button, then I use it.....A LOT!. Dead or Alive used to be my favourite and that had some great taunts. Is it just me, or does anyone else taunt a lot, because I do it even to the detriment of my own game.
So imagine my delight to find that each character in SF6 has 3 taunts each, and my fav character thus far, Luke, has one of my favourites. Every time someone does an "Hadoken" at me, I taunt back with Luke my "Hadoken" taunt, but he does the action and says it in such a pissy way, its great!
I know I need to stop taunting if I want to win more, but I just enjoy it too much. Would someone who taunts a lot against you actually put you off playing them again? I'm not a pro or anything so its not like I'm taunting because I am much better than my opponent.

It depends if I know the person. If some rando starts taunting, I always take it as being like having a Union Jack flying outside your house.
Strictly speaking, nothing wrong with it but in my mind it immediately marks you out as a dickhead.

If it’s against a friend, it’s great.
If it’s against an unknown and they’re losing, I assume they are grumpy at getting beaten. If they’re winning then I assume they’re a dick.
But that’s me.
Worse behaviour is to send hate mail. Oh man I used to get the most amazing hate in SF2:HDR. One guy went on a massive tirade over the mic about how he was going to find out where I lived and beat me up. Hahaha. He really didn’t enjoy being put on his arse.

Also when pros taunt other pros it can be excellent. In the SFV final of Evo 2017, Tokido did a taunt into combo with Akuma and it was fucking fantastic.

But for real, I think I literally just remembered you could taunt and just did it.
Tbf, I did taunt someone a couple of times on the final day who kept turtling even when they were massively down on life. Sandblast is not full screen, bro.

Just thought I'd jump on the demo for a bit and shit, modern controls are pretty fucking good for just allowing you to focus on the fundamentals and spacing. I'm starting to see why a fair few Japanese pros were using modern controls.

How do you even taunt in sf6? I think you have to map it separately. I just did it to RS.

Of course! Well now I know what to do against players who turtle when I’m in the lead. There was a story trailer at the Sony thing last night - for a fighting game it looks pretty decent: youtu.be/HPEDfsHQL4kThere’s a very brief glimpse of someone potentially new just after Sim mentions the Satsui No Hado.. too skinny to be Akuma though.

Hmm, yeah looks like whoever it is has broken out of some shackles and has purple scars on all over. No idea who that could be.

Cheers for the replies guys, wasn't expecting the issue of taunting to be debated quite as much, so thats great.
I have never flown an Union Jack flag outside my house, although I have no issue if someone wants to do this, I think we all could do with being more patriotic in this country.
I don't taunt because I am being a dick. I am actually very respectful of the other players and will thank them for the games afterwards, regardless if I win or lose. In Dead or Alive I sometimes actually used it to entice players in, shouting "come on" with Tina would make people try and get a hit in, but it was such a short taunt I could often use it to my advantage.
Taunts are put into games to obviously be used, but I do think I should tone it down though. I guess taunts lose their impact when you use 5 or 6 every single round. I am going to try and change my ways and maybe use 1 max per match.

I don’t take them that seriously, don’t worry. And some taunts in SF6 are genuinely hilarious
