Played some ranked matches, had my first rage quit opponent and in my server the chat is popping the fuck off with some guy accusing someone of being cracked beta user.
I forget how salty the FGC community is sometimes.

What's everyone's opinions of fighting against modern control players. It definitely has it advantages and disadvantages, biggest advantages are one button specials and instant supers, disadvantages are they only get a few combos so once you learn which ones they're going to fire out you can punish. I think it's a great addition to get people into the game though because I think we do forget about how these kind of games can be quite intimidating for new people.

Not really had chance to play this beta besides an hour or so on Friday. Still undecided on which platform to get it on. I have the credit in my psn wallet for it, but I'm half tempted to get the pc version.

I don’t mind fighting modern control folks but tbqh I tend to assume they’re brand new to SF. So far I’ve not come across anyone who’s strong and use it but I’m sure it will happen sooner or later.
Last day for the beta then. But only 2 weeks until the real thing! Not long to go now.

I played a few against a Modern control user. Didn't seem to bad at all and so far I am happy to play against them.
I heard somewhere that damage is reduced by 20% for them (may of heard it here). Is this true?

GGs Nick. This game is so fun.
I think the corner meta in SF6 is probably the best it's ever been. If you put someone in the corner you can bully them so much. And you know they're waiting for you to do it.. and you know they know.. haha. Bloody brilliant.
It's going to be a long two weeks.

It is fun, that’s why i stayed in far longer than I should have. I should have taken that second game and ran. My thumb had stopped working so I was missing a ton of conversions and I was too tired to think my way out of the corner, so it was GGs as soon as I was in it. Just missing that half yard in my head when it mattered.
Really is a shame I didn’t meet you earlier as I’ve been playing some terrible people all evening and you’re basically the first person who had any corner game, so I’ve had absolutely no practice. I genuinely think you’re the first person I played all weekend who went on the offensive.
Right, that’s all my excuses out of the way….

Its going to be interesting to see what happens going forward. I think there will definitely be a few modern control meta-characters who benefit from it more than others.
I played a luke who was generally pretty bad/clearly new but he had one combo down that he never missed, a combo into super that he never missed and a super late uppercut locked. Once that guy gets generally used to fighting games, hes going to be a very tough nut to crack. Same with a guile I played. Just never missed anything.
I dont think it really matters if you are missing a ton of normals if all you want to do is win.

I guess it just really depends on the normals you're losing as footsies then become an issue. Watching a video earlier says that Luke misses a lot of good normals with Modern controls. He does but not as many as Ryu by all accounts, for example. Apparently he misses out on a chunk of combo routes but Luke can still go for pretty optimal stuff. I had a mess around with Luke and modern controls in the demo and it seemed pretty decent. Like onny says, it’s probably going to be the command throws that will make or break it but I do think the garbage level I play at will be largely dominated by modern controls. |

From that beta I'd say Guile is top tier, really oppressive normals, strong sonic booms. Chun-Li's stances just scare me. Kimberly is without the most annoying character to play against, insane walk speed, and mix ups that confuse the fuck out of me. I think Jamie will have a tough time due to him only being really good when he hits max drinks.

Not sure what the best option is to buy this. The disc version is £10 less than the store price on Xbox, but I want the year 1 pass. I have £10 Xbox credit I've had sat there waiting for this game but have no idea if the pass will be worth buying separately as it isn't available yet.

Is that steam or XBS? Im tempted but it ran kind of weird for me on steam. I think it kept dropping inputs while I was internetting. But having it on the pc and xbox is tempting.
