killerbeeI've this minute put the ps5 disk in and is on 2%. I'll let you know how long it takes to install. It's 96gb from the disk and there's a 2.1gb update file waiting

At least you're seeing the benefit of the PS5 having a UHD drive, just the one disc so no swapping unlike the PS4 version.

I’ve just managed to grab an hour with it over lunch.
It does play much better on performance but does take a fairly chunky hit in fidelity. You can switch on the fly so maybe the play is performance in missions and resolution while pootling about. If you put a gun to my head I think you’d get used to the missing foliage faster than you’d get used to the visibly jerkier character response.
Oh, and they have added scaling for the slowdown when you pull up the weapon wheel, which seems handy. It does always annoy me that it’s almost real time.

Cheers Quad. My copy just arrived - 65 minutes to install apparently, though it’s also downloading a 2.1GB update file (about 8 minutes) so I wonder if it might speed up once that’s done.
Still the Special Edition box is nice and the art book is very pretty. I’ve also just redeemed the soundtrack code (241MB) which I look forward to.
Hoping to get a go before the wife gets home!!

It is speeding up… now on 46 minutes… Mine downloaded something that was 96gb too.. as soon as I put the disk in it wouldn't do anything until 201gb was free Funny though as it's downloaded 96gb quicker than its copied from the disk |

Well hopefully the posties weren’t out today because of the weather otherwise it’s probably been nicked by a postie bastard. Had quite a few games and films not get delivered over the last few years.
I’ve got enough to play it’s just I don’t want to chase it up and Elden Ring is out next week. That’s one advantage of going digital I suppose.

It really is quite blurry in frame rate mode. The misty stuff off the red plants looks terrible in comparison to the resolution mode. Reflections are hit really hard too - lots of effects are reduced much more than the apparent numerical reduction in resolution would suggest. 30fps is out but I would definitely consider a 40fps option if there was one.

I'd also forgotten the PS5 likes to randomly spin the drive up when playing physical games. It's such a passive aggressive machine sometimes with all its little noises. |

Oh bloody hell, now it’s got to “copy” the update file at a glacially slow pace.
I can’t believe I used to wait for games to load from tape when I was a kid… I’m so impatient now!
Edit: so in case anyone is wondering, about 50 minutes to install the game from disk.
My work here is done. Enjoy the game everyone!
