Landing a good 5 years deep (tail end) into the PS5 generation. Last GTA was a PS3 game.
Pretty nuts thinking back to the release cadence of GTA3 through to V.

I never found the stories had any great reason to see them through. They're more satirical, larger than life characters and played up for laughs, main missions are excuses to get big setpiece moments. Red Dead is where Rockstar can flex their narrative muscle.

We play very differently... Gta stories is what made the game so fun what made the big set pieces memorable and so fun to play. Without the story. Just pointless action. I think San Andreas had the best storyline out of all gta games. Wish they remade it. |

Surprised how many leaks they have had. Trailer was..a trailer I suppose. Probably the weakest R* have put out IMO.

I worked in GameStop for the midnight launch of GTA V. I was allowed to bring it home and play it a few days early.
We had a midnight launch for it, and there were people queued up from 9pm. The line went on for a long time, and there was an incredible atmosphere.
GameStop is now closed in Ireland, and the excitement of those midnight launches is gone, at least in my small town.
It's a pity, the excitement of those events is gone, though at the time it was a massive pain in the arse coming in at midnight for those launches

Think some of yous were watching a GTA3 trailer because visually it looked great. Went from zero hype to very hyped, and back to zero at 2025. But if it looks and feels half as alive as that trailer can see where the investment went.

Not sure why everyone's surprised by 2025. I called it when the topic came up down the pub on Saturday... Games are continually announced way too early these days.
Come on, we all know how this works by now. Development schedules will slip, 2025 will turn into early 2026, the PS6 version will solve the performance issues, etc.
