'Entertaining' who are you kidding? You're just like the rest of us basement dwellers who stay inside playing games during the summer. Au contraire Mr Plissken Chicken Shwarma A bottle of chilled Tizer?

It would go nice with a chilled Tizer. The staple drink of all basement dwellers!

Gotcha!
You know, I think I've only drunk Tizer about once. Like, 40 years ago...

So despite living here for a few months now and not ventured into the veggie patch areas of the garden much I've just discovered a massive crop of rhubarb the previous owners grew, I love rhubarb, suspect I'll be sick of it in a few weeks time. I only ever bought it a few times per year as it always seemed so expensive. Gonna try and freeze some but limited freezer space will limit that.

Rhubarb is another thing I might put in my new garden - it comes back every year.
I got some Tizer - it's chilling down...

Where did you get it? I've not seen it for years. Morrison’s Congleton: two litre bottles, next to Irn bru.

Heh. Honestly, I do tend to agree.
Irn Bru still seems to taste like it used to; Tizer does appear to have lost its edge a bit.

Allotment crops in the ground now:
Broad beans, radishes, cabbages, kale, carrots, courgettes (yellow and green), and a bunch of wild flower mixes to attract bees.
Potatoes once the next delivery of top soil/compost mix arrives

Lovely. Where did you get the timber? The price of wood is the main thing holding back my garden projects at the moment.

Marketplace can be a good (free) source of wood suitable for rough planters and the like but you gotta get in there first and some people don't want you to cherry pick they want someone to take the lot.

You going to use the 1 foot gardening method? That's what she tells me. I've done a little plan for all the squares, A-D and 1-6. So far, there's brassicas and carrots gone in a couple of the squares. Lovely. Where did you get the timber? The price of wood is the main thing holding back my garden projects at the moment. My neighbour is a (mostly retired) carpenter, so he's always got loads of bits kicking around and his son is a builder so they just got me 2x 6ft and 2x 4ft planks and we used some old offcuts for the corners. It's not 100% square, but it works. Cost about £30 all told. You can comfortably pay £300 for one that size online. Maybe see if there's any local builders or reclamation yards around?
