Yeah, location matters for sure. You live in a smaller town goban? Where I live is tiny, but close to Inverness, which is in itself small for a city. Online dating obviously isn't a big thing up here. I was in Edinburgh at the weekend and my phone was pinging away happily, slightly depressing really.

You'll need to import yourself a farmer's wife.

So here's a thing. I'm currently dating a woman who I met via AA. She's a project manager for a local environmental charity, and I really like her. 2 years ago I was with someone else ( met via the same recovery groups) but it ended after a few months, amicably I think. I've told the current friend about woman B, just to be open about stuff. Woman B is also a project manager and their paths have recently crossed. They are meeting on Tuesday for a coffee to discuss contacts etc.
I think my side of the street is clean but there is a niggling sense of impending doom.

Was there a specific reason you told her about this? Talking about previous relationships is recipe for disaster. You’d think she’d be aware you weren’t single since puberty, once things get a more concrete shape imaginations run wild and the comparisons start.

I only briefly mentioned it as I knew, via mutual friendships, it was bound to come out and people like to stir up shit.
Thing is, she's mentioned that she dated someone else in the fellowship a while back and not said who. I know who it is but not said anything as it's non of my business.
It's a very healthy, open thing we have going on so I'm not really worried but woman B is the rogue factor

Oh, same circle of acquaintances. That makes sense, it’s better than finding out during a party by having a non-alcoholic yet still sticky drink thrown in your face.

Trafford, look at it this way, if the new woman is so easily influenced that she'll bin someone on the (possibly biased) views of their ex, even you're better off without.
I had someone do a complete online autopsy of my life and ask me a load of questions. Funnily enough, that didn't work out.

It'll go great Jambo. You've always struck me as a bit of a legend.

When I worked at a deli I went out with a colleague. Then one day the boss told me to stop putting my dick in the ham slicer and we had to split up.

Cheers guys, I think she's a great person but I'm very aware that she extremely quirky underneath her very well presented and straight laced persona that she presents at work. All I can do is see how it goes and I guess not go in with any expectations. That sounds smart right?

I don't know, while yes she's quirky she's really sweet. I don't think being a kink fiend is her bag. Although, no joke she keeps joking that I must be her long lost brother as we have a lot in common...

I wouldn't be too worried about her saying that. It sounds like she's trying to flirt but doesn't want to be too obvious so she's putting a slightly friendzoney spin on it.

Is 'quirky' code for something? What's wrong with quirky?

That’s great news Jambo, good luck! Play the game not the occasion I.e. try relax and just be yourself especially as she has already met you and seems to like you!
I’ve been doing this for a couple of months, started out very enthusiastic but didn’t take too long to get quite burnt out with the endless swiping/liking, conversations that go well for a few days then drop off the grid or conversely women who make zero effort to carry a conversation and seeing the same stuff time and time again (seemingly the whole world loves dogs, cocktails and wants to travel).
That being said I have been on multiple dates with a couple of nice ladies (not at the same time!) and been good to get back out there as it were after a long time out of the dating game.

So..I've managed to get myself a date with a colleague at work. This can only go well I imagine. Get in. After separating from my wife and dipping my toe in the waters of Hinge, I wound up going on a date with someone from work who's way out of my league. And a (very liberal) Muslim. We've been seeing eachother seriously for a few months now and have just started telling people at work. Her (more conservative) family are less than pleased she's seeing a white guy who's divorcing and has two kids. I am painting her mum's skirting boards on Sunday in a haphazard attempt to demonstrate that I'm not a scumbag.
