Blue Girl and Red Girl are actually played by the same actress. It's quite remarkable when you stop and really think about it.

Really? I always thought it was the same person with two different facial expressions.

Our expected monthly Gas/Electric is now (will be) £272 minus the Gov dough until next April. Motherfeckers.

Getting clothes dry was an issue that I hadn't really thought about. We usually use a heated dryer, which used to cost about 3p an hour. That's now 10p an hour and given it takes a good 12 hours to dry a full load and we do a load a day give or take, that doesn't sound appealing. But equally can't have heating on all the time or wet clothes hanging around. North facing garden too, so only really worth putting out if its really windy.

Had some out yesterday, was still largely damp when I brought them in. Edge had been taken off but that's it really. Got sheets and stuff in at the moment so they'll dry more easily I am sure.

We bought a dehumidifier recently from Amazon due to a drain-leak issue at the house, and do intend to use it over winter to help with laundry.
£220, the Avalla X-200, and they send you a £15 refund for leaving a review.
It’s performing well.

Yup, have a dehumidifier too. Which was largely to deal with an issue in the loft but does help.

A load a day? That's a lot. Even for a family.

Dehumidifiers still aren't all that cheap (but still much better than an old skool tumble dryer) Mine is an eco model (Meaco) and sucks about 150w constantly, and needs to be on pretty much all day to get a load of washing dry, so that's easily over a unit of energy extra per load of washing. For anybody on Octopus you can register interest for their peak energy usage refund dealio now. octopus.energy/blog/results-big-dirty-turn-down-trial-paid-off-peak-energy/

Got the same setup, meaco dehumidifier, loads of clothes racks. That spare room was nice once.
I try to help by not washing anything.

A load a day? That's a lot. Even for a family. It's probably 4 or 5 loads a week. It is less since the kids have got older but I don't think it's atypical really.

This is the octopus scheme I linked to above (think another provider is doing it too) They go on smart meter data, so already fairly low usage households like mine might not even get notified about it.
I've signed up anyway. If I get the email I'll just hold off doing any washing that day and maybe schedule it to start in the early hours instead. If I want to game I'll do it on the switch instead of PC/TV etc. Not really much more I can do unless I want to sit in the dark.

Yeah, we are only just under a load a day, for four of us. Towels are their own wash, and bed linen would be two as it wouldn't fit in one go.
For drying and general energy saving and air quality I am looking at single contained MHRV units.

Two adults and one ten year old here. True story: I do at least two laundry loads per day, often three. The joys of having a child that does multiple extracurricular activities that require some kind of outfit

We do a load a day but have a 3 and 6 year old in the house, the latter of which is pissing his bed way too often so that alone requires a lot of washing, plus the hassle of having to strip and remake his bed every.fucking.day.

Same, probably 4 loads on average although we could get away with 3 if a few more clothes got rammed in. See, that is way closer to my experience. 3 - 4 loads a week, and that is for a family with 2 kids that regularly play soccer.
I guess it also depends on the size of your washing machine, and whether or not you have enough textiles to replace dirty stuff without having to immediately wash it.

2 loads a week, lights and colours. Might be a random 3rd depending on bedding or other weekly activities that dictate.
Trick to keep underwear usage low is by wearing them front, then back and then inside out front and back. 4 days easy!
