That's the ones! And that's a whole kettles worth of savings over the price I had too. I was hoping this site would have the much harder to find jackets in stock but alas no Could probably find one on eBay. Aye, they're on there. But all marked as 'used' and some at 40 quid!

Yeah, almost certainly. There might be the odd place with genuine surplus, if you have a good poke around, but a lot of the kit on there is used. It's also often graded by decent sellers, so you can get a decent piece sometimes.
If I had one, you could have it. I can ask around, though.

Fair enough. I'm trying to remember ever seeing anyone wearing one. Must be a reason why the jackets are rare but the trousers are in plentiful supply.

It's not because unless you're posted or on exercise somewhere bloody cold/wouldn't be seen dead in them, the trousers are not needed, but the jackets are always very handy?

I didn't want to ask why someone would want to wear a two piece reversible sleeping bag, tbh. 😁 I've blanked extreme weather training out mostly, I think it's just about the worst thing I ever did. We didn't wear those, though, I remember that much. I also remember the Norgies standing around in t-shirts, the mad bastards.

Don't forget to take a photo of your meter reading today.
Their websites will probably collapse again, so submitting a reading today may be a problem, but most energy companies are allowing a grace period for submitting readings

So anyone who wears warm trousers during an energy crisis is a pussy, just trying to get the messaging clear here.

Is it worth doing another today? NB: I'm in the habit of doing readings every few weeks cause their technician was too moronic to put in a smart meter. He couldn't work out where it would go.

Unless you're burning through gas and electric in commercial volumes, no need to submit another.

I'm going down the thermals route instead of softies (which do look pretty snug!)
Means I can wear them under my jeans and not live in fear of someone knocking at the door.

They? How does "3 and a half weeks over October" relate to the difference between a meter reading on Wednesday and today?

Meaning I have unlikely burned through commercial amounts in 4 days if that's what my cost is from my readings in nearly 4 weeks

£65 for nearly 4 weeks supply sounds positively cheap.

£65 for nearly 4 weeks supply sounds positively cheap. No heating and I hardly use anything electric. Don't think it's a palace in the geefe household. Though I did solar installed mid month. My gf used to cover the utilities before she bought her own place and she was paying more. But, then, she was rather fond of the thermostat and electrical stuff.

You don't really use anything electric??? Do you use a gas operated TV or lights then?

Legs don't get cold unless you're a weakling/Southerner. You do realize that blood is flowing through your legs, that will cool down, and then cool out the rest of your body? Maybe if you have short and fat legs, it's not a problem. Or very hairy ones.

My laptop gets charged intermittently through the day. Kettle gets boiled maybe 4 times a day. It stays like this until end of working day/ evening when I put on one light, depending on what room I'm in. Hardly touch my PlayStation these days and mostly just have on the TV, if I am doing something. Oven is gas.

I bought a couple of motion sensors the other week. Now anything with a smart plug or smart bulb will turn itself off if nobody is in the room for more than 15 minutes.

Just submitted extra meter readings to British Gas via their mobile app.
Does anyone else sometimes get the "that doesn't look right; continue anyway?" message when submitting a reading in this way?
I've had it a couple of times over the last few months. It makes me think that our usage must have increased quite nastily, despite being careful.
We do keep a reptile again now (since February) which adds to costs, and we've been running a dehumidifier for the last week due to damp problems caused by a drain leak.
Hmmm...
