I don't see why This Morning is getting so much flak for that. It's not like they're setting the energy and fuel prices.

That we're in this situation is shit and dystopic, but I still don't see why it's bad for the show to respond to the crisis.

My solar is getting installed today. After some, shall we say, errors of judgement on their part, we've had to take 2 panels off the installation but I managed to knock a grand off the cost.
Considering we've had 2 power cuts in the last month, probably not a bad time to get them up.
On topic - my heating kicked in today and I told it to fuck off. All radiators got turned down and I've put on two layers.

I have relented and let it go on but turned the flow temperature down to 45 degrees. It very quickly got up to 21 in every room, so I might try even lower. It's just annoying our boiler set up sends the same temp to the hot water cylinder as a moron installed it (before we owned the house).

Honestly it's been a right old faff. So many bullshit firms sprung up. Inverter getting installed today and then the panels going on. Electric and wiring is next week.

Felt bit cold this morning, then my heating kicked in for half hour, thermostat is set at 18c. The thermostat was set to 20c last year, but I've lowered and halved the potential time it can be on now.

I may have told this story before. I used to work in local radio news. I once managed to get the phrase "back doors were smashed in" to a bulletin about burglaries.

New stats show the UK’s wealth disparity has grown somewhat recently. It sounds woolly - and a little disparaging to Slovenia - but a poor person in Slovenia will have a better quality of life than they do in the UK

I'd move to somewhere else I Northern Europe but not sure what I would do. Heading back to Netherlands, where I grew up, for a week later this year. Will see what life is like. I expect changed a lot in 20 years. I'm also quite keen get a country pad in UK though, it's just so gorgeous and I love the older buildings.

Things are considered tough in Sweden but I still managed to save a deposit, buy a house last year and have money over for trips and saving. And I bought on my own. Things are slowly changing with price rises for property but there fact the state heavily subsidises childcare make a huge difference to families of young kids. I'm always amazed how expensive the UK is for things that needn't be. Rent, childcare, public transport all fucking ridiculous. Living in the UK always felt like being squeezed for every penny every month.
