Said it before in another thread but will add here; if you have a wood burner, a £40 stove fan makes a ridiculous difference to how effective they are and are essential. Thanks for that tip, I've not heard of them before but looking at them now. Could be perfect for our really tough to heat lounge/dining area, it's lovely if you are all watching tv but move to the otherside on the pc to work and it's somewhat chilly.

I'm considering having a stud wall put up in my living room, which is a big old terrace one. It might keep the heat in a bit better.

divide the room into thermal zones by putting one of those bead curtain things up, like the ones they have in some old fashioned knocking shops

MOT today. Can usually wallpaper whole rooms with the advisories so I'm sure everything is going to be just fine

"not using your own electricity to blow dry"
I'm taking that as advocating stealing electricity.
The suggestion to shower elsewhere is also pretty lol. Not everyone has a gym membership or workplace with showers.
I mean it's an absolutely garbage article in a garbage newspaper, but still, hilarious vague and naive suggestions.
Even saving 28 quid a week isn't going to dent the bill increases some will see.

I think if you have a gym membership there are easier ways of saving money than going there for a shower, like not having a gym membership. Imagine workplaces that do have showers and people queuing up in the morning to have their showers.

Those offices that have been empty are also likely to be full as people look to save money on heating/electricity at home (assuming their commuting costs are relatively cheap).
Gas prices have dropped but at a plateau now well above what we're used to.

Even if/when prices return to normal, I don't expect suppliers will reduce their consumer prices to match at all. Because of course they won't.
They might reduce them a bit, but even if wholesale prices go back to "normal" actual bills will stay a bit higher.

As seen on TV, you could potentially save £40 (a year), if the things on standby are switched off. Now you just need to find the other £1.5k.

Just like the environment, it's all our fault, and nothing to do with the multinationals taking the proverbial.

couple of years time we should have succesfully decoupled renewables from the wholesale price of electriciy europe wide & that should bring some ever increasing savings and stability.
All those tories who raged against early subsidies for renewables were wrong. I'm sure they'll all learn from this and reflect on the certainty with which they make future proclamations.
(oh and car passed its MOT! and got an oil change for being a good boy!)

Thankfully it looks like that fucking mental Coast guy has cracked it and it’s all a conspiracy led by McCain’s, Birdseye and the rest of Big Freezer Food to shut down chippies.
Hopefully Are Boris can do something about it.

The comments...
At this point I'm convinced half the population are full-on conspiracy nutjobs.
Icke could have a successful career as PM at this rate. Though he'd never get the OK from the Queen Lizard.

I see that he seems to be suffering from the same disease that Russell Brand has where they believe that saying lots of low-frequency words makes you sound intelligent when in fact it actually makes you come across, rightfully IMO, as a stupid cunt.

Truss sez gbnews is the bestest though, they have much better 'facts' than leftie bbc. To GB News credit they do ask some really hard hitting questions like "Is Britain the best country ever?" and "Climate change will mean we can have great hot summers in Britain and not go to foreign places, won't it?"

It’s the lefts fault cos they have stopped us going full nuclear on Russia and taking back the empire and more, which would have given us loads of cheap fuel.

It is pretty funny that he took the pivot to 'professional arsehole' after people stopped booking him for 'Brenda off Love Island is going out with Jeff from Britains Next Top Forklift Driver' entertainment news because he was an actual arsehole.
And you cant get more self hating than a gay foreigner trying to get reactionary, white Brits to like him.
