Oh dear... I er... had my Tesla Model 3 test drive. Very odd driving experience, it's like a £40k insane golf kart, took a lot of getting used to doesn't really feel much like a car at all. Is that true of all fully electric cars? I think it was the aggressive regen breaking that made feel like that. Lots of other little weird things that perhaps having a look around in the menu might fix. I.e. overly sensitive acceleration, mirrors annoyingly automatically moving down when reversing, view out the centre mirror is quite restricted and dim, weird "gear" selector, no easy way to open the froot, no obvious ability to turn off car and lock it. That last one had me in a panic in the carpark desperately googling as I didn't want to just walk off and leave it but that's exactly what you do. Weird. Wife is absolutely smitten with the stupid thing though, I chose the last car and it's her turn so I can't really say anything. Ah well. I found all the above issues strange at first but have grown to get used to them if it's any comfort - I even prefer the aggressive regenerative braking and acceleration and have learned to trust the car fully for locking and other stuff you usually have buttons for. The rear view thru the mirror is indeed crap, but you can set the mirrors to go where you like in reverse and have your own profile saved.

I generally just cannot get annoyed at cyclists unless they're being proper cunts, and which in all likeliness they're cunts in their cars too.
Bad drivers however infuriate me because I have to adjust my driving to accommodate them. On my journey to work my current pet hates are middle lane sitters where I will often make a point of going from lane one to three to overtake and then back to lane one again to show them the problem they cause and how unnecessary it is for them to be there. The other are idiots who will do 45 in a 50, but then continue to do 45 when the limit changes down to 40 or even 30. Just a complete lack of awareness.

My brother has a '21 Model 3 and the build quality is... not good. I'd be interested to hear what his problems were, I've bought a 2021 model 3 because of the tax incentives for my small business and expected a load of issues but I am yet to find a single problem, build quality or otherwise. Wondering if I'm lucky or not as fussy as some. Mostly, it's the fit and finish. The panel gaps look like they're from 4 different types of car, the trim is cheap, the interior stitching is a bit... unfinished. Lots of little things that just wouldn't make it past quality control on anything but the most budget of cars.

Yeah, it does, and you’re not too thick to see that either. We’re all really grateful you resist the urge to kill us, if only because it might damage your car. You’ve come at this super, super aggressively right out the gate. Might be worth doing a cycling proficiency test to try and avoid all these near misses you keep having. Bad driving? Seems like bad cycling. I do 200k a week and, so, yeah, plenty of experience with twats with your attitude. Grow up.

At this point, it’s probably worth pointing out the hypocrisy of someone charging into a thread and wetting themselves about how someone can’t be a good road user if they have a bad attitude to other road users while persistently abusing another road user and using big boy cycling lingo like ‘drivist’.
So, according to several of the things you have needlessly complained about thus far, it’s safe and fair to assume that it’s impossible for you to be a good cyclist

Cyclists regularly get knocked off their bikes by bad drivers so I can understand that cycling regularly gives you a bad impression of drivers in general, but it is possible to be annoyed by people slowing down your journey and still behave responsibly. Pedestrians get knocked down by irresponsible cyclists too, that doesn't mean all cyclists are irresponsible.

Drivers are all mass murderers and cyclists are all maniacs who deliberately throw themselves under the wheels of passing cars just to spite them.

Seems a bit shit to make jokes about killing cyclists when he said he recently had a pretty close call. Not sure what the point of winding someone up about that is

Indeed. Everyone deserves the same amount of respect on and equal access to the roads Nick has the brass balls to assert I’ve been “super super aggressive” after literally wishing death on cyclists and talking about scraping them out of his grill because they might make him ten minutes late. Now we’re on to victim blaming because a driver decided to nearly end me by overtaking when there was inches to spare. Really covered yourself in glory here, but on the plus side you’ve looked like a proper internet hard man, bravo 👏

Not sure why UK drivers are so wound up by people on bikes, they are road users like them. I had a trip through Spain last year and in over a 1000km had absolutely no close overtakes, or aggressive behaviour directed at me. You cant go for more than a few minutes in the UK without a close overtake, getting shouted at for going single file or something about 'road tax', attempted left hooks, squeezes into the gutter, must get in front behaviour and general idiocy.

Those are ludicrously exaggerated versions of the arguments on BOTH sides to suggest that maybe everyone needs to calm down a bit. You have to be looking from a pretty skewed perspective to interpret it as a joke about killing cyclists.

Enough bickering guys. I think we need to all come together and unanimously agree that these new fangled LED headlights they are doing nowadays that seemingly get more piercing by the year are absolute fucking AIDS. I used to love driving at night but I kinda dread it now.

Any time you find yourself on the same side of the argument as Jeremy Clarkson you might need to take a step back and check whether yours is a position of ignorance or not. You can do better than this.

What did I exaggerate Sarfin? Nothing about your own experiences I'm sure, and I've acknowledged there are shit drivers about. I was doing the exaggerating. But you have in this thread told someone they're a bad driver even if they drive safely on the road and that doesn't seem like a reasonable position to me. There are also unreasonable positions from drivers in this thread.

Can’t we all just agree that motorcyclists and people with caravans are the worst?

You would just have to cross your fingers that an easily upset forum member doesn’t own a caravan or there could be carnage.
