I've been searching for a song for ages but not sure what it is and figured someone out there may know. This one I think is more for the Screamo fans out there.
Basically the song is long, depressing as fuck and tells a story about some poor kid getting accidentally shot and killed in the USA. It's content literally so heavy it hits you like a tonne of bricks to the balls.
For some reason I'm thinking Parkway Drive but searching doesn't find anything obvious and mentioning The Drowning Pool earlier made me think it could be them as well as Funeral for a Friend or Alex is on Fire for some reason spring to mind.
It may be none of them too but given the distinct content of the song you'd think someone may know.
Another bit of useless information is that they no longer play it live as it trashes the singers throat.
Any ideas?

Very familiar with FFAF and the American bit doesn't sound like them.

Could be from their death metal album "Steps to Hell".

lol Yeah that's why I feel it may not be Parkway Drive either, why the American reference. It's possible 'Drive' was part of the name of the song even.

Or it could be Rod Stewart's The Killing of Georgie.

Or it could be Rod Stewart's The Killing of Georgie. Have you been listening to other bands I have. Only yesterday I listened to Celtic Thunder's fabulous rendition of "All God's Creatures Have a Place in the Choir"

Can you remember where you heard this song? Yes and I can probably tweet the guy and see if he remembers but famous people don't tend to respond to me after the 'incident'. It was in a Twitch stream that El Hornet from Pendulum did during the first lockdowns. The guy is an encyclopedia of music and has pretty much everything on vinyl. Some streams he'd do punk, metal all sorts not just dnb and dance.

H-alphaFox Join the discord and have a poke about or ask there. They probably have playlists from tagging the streams if they're anything like most of the discords i visit.
or have a search on the Reddit.

Is Paul active on the discord? Might join anyway. His streams were quite small at that stage, only 100 or less of us watching and he was very talkative and interacts with everyone in the chat. He still streams so I'd have to start watching again and hope he remembers me, at one point he cracked the shits(in a bants way) because he didn't know how to pronounce Halphafox. It is definitely a non Pendulum thing too although we got sneak peaks at new Pendulum before it was released. He also started releasing the streams as podcasts www.buzzsprout.com/1292498 it stands a chance to be here but do remember him saying he wasn't going to put many of the Thursday streams out as there was an intimacy to them. I would thoroughly recommend listening to the podcasts though, plenty of good music, banter, nose beers and the man has many tales to tell. Now regarding the song, not sure why I'm thinking New Orleans or French, this may or may not be important.
