Just dropping in to say I'm still in the 10 game challenge. Not bought any since early Jan. Thought I better say so since I don't have to report completions I was worried you'd cross me off the list
Replayed Earthbound after it hit switch online and I'm currently picking Dark souls back up to fill in before my next purchase

I'm the same, didn't even buy anything in Jan really but claimed a late December game to skirt into the rules.
Whenever I do get the time to play something (not much) I keep dipping into stuff I complete last year. I'm addicted to Dyson Sphere again FFS

I bought GTAV for PS5 yesterday because it was cheap and I've never played it so quite fancied having a pootle about next week.
Erm. That's me at 10 games now. Arseburgers.
I may still survive but if Ghostwire Tokyo reviews in any way decent, I'm out.

Dark Souls is finally done. Bloody hell that took ages. Trying to decide on a suitable follow up and I think it'll mean adding Doon Eternal to my list please.

🎯 Done Valhalla. A really tiresome slog. The Asgard and Jotenheim parts were near insufferable. But did it. With all Order guy killed and most of the counties clocked. Not sure I can take much more of this iteration of AC. Caved and bought HFW and skipped Deathloop and Returnal for the time being so stick Horizon on the list.

I picked up a series s a few days ago. It means I need to move onto the 4 game challenge. So I have one for each system, plus ring fit going as a fitness thing.
So I should have:
Ps5 - horizon
Xbox - psychonauts
Switch - Pokemon
Then still have ring fit going on, but have paused that as with my depression and anxiety I am struggling with exercise

Since I tired of being kicked off the TV due to my Elden Ring addiction on Series X, I've double-dipped on PC and rolled (heh) myself a Samurai to complement the Confessor. I have no regrets, but I do now have...

I imagine one or both will be cashed in around the middle of the year when more releases crop up, but since I've already passed a pound per hour on Series X I can't imagine it'll be hard to achieve the same on PC. It's nice to be properly gripped by a game again, probably the first proper time since Hollow Knight.
Oh, and since I'm here:
🦆 Guardians of the Galaxy (GamePass)
I haven't hit two hours yet, but it's a nice alternative to grimdark when my Elden Ring has been pummeled enough of an evening.

First official purchase of 2022...
🦆Elden Ring
Played about 15 mins this morning to see how it ran and on first blush it seems smooth and stutter-free. No ultrawide though .. bah!
I ran through the starting area but my pad disconnected and when reconnecting it, only the sticks worked and the buttons didn't so I couldn't fight the soldier through the fog gate.
So far. Like it. Just need to put batteries in the pad so I don't accidentally pull the wire out.

I may as well bow out now. If I don't buy Ghostwire, I'm going to rebuy Returnal.
I got carried away with my retro purchases earlier in the year and that's shot me in the tits. It was how I was feeling mentally and wanted to relive/experience some gaming memories from a few years back. I don't actually regret it tbh but it has fucked me, once again.
I'm not entering next year. I start with the very best of intentions but you know what? It's my hobby, I enjoy it, and I get excited about it. If this is the way it works with me, so be it. I accept that now.
Thank you to Duckbreaker as ever for taking the time and effort to manage this challenge once more and my own apologies if I have wasted any time. I wish everyone who remains in it the best. It's a good thing, yes, but it's not compatible with how I enjoy gaming.

I've purchased 🦆 and completed 🎯 Welcome to Elk. Granted at 2 hours long it was a poor choice for the ten game challenge but for peanuts in the latest sale I couldn't resist a nice short narrative game that would look lovely on the OLED. (It really did)
I've also completed 🎯 A Monsters Expedition which means I'm up to 3 games and all are complete this year

🦆 Number 2 for the 10 game challenge: Spelunky Yes, that was also on my ducketlist last year, but I abandoned it. Now it finally clicked big time. I'm near the end of Metroid Dread, but need to find some time to finish it. In the 10 game challenge you don't need to count it if you start playing it again, only if you happened to have acquired a new version of it (like buying it again on another system). Only the people in the 3/4/5 slot challenge need to announce what they are playing from their backlog. The 10 game challenge is literally that - no more than 10 new games bought or otherwise acquired in 2022. Dear Duckbreaker,
Could you be so kind to remove 🦆 Spelunky from my list (as per above explanation) and add 🦆 Triangle Strategy (which I mentioned a couple of posts back)?
