Problem with having a week off you just blast through a game in no time. Really enjoyed my time with this one. Havn’t played it since it originally came out and it ..well a bit of a marvel. If the game came out today brand new I’d be impressed. Naughty dog are wizards (albeit at the aid of crunch). It’s pretty much immaculate. Story is engaging, characters great. Gunplay is fun (don’t know it 60fps makes a difference here?). It is probably a chapter or two too long - pacing issues i had with it first time round are mostly dissolved just at its very end you just kinda feel
It’s reached it’s limit. Which is something I think the developers and writers feel through out. Drake makes quips about it all the way throughout. I guess there’s only so much breaking ledges and oh crap moments they can do. To be fair to ND they gave it a bloody good shot with this. Looking around the internet the game is getting a good second view/second appraisal. It’s great.
🦆 Riders Republic. I was trying to hold out for Elden ring/GT7 but that’s a few weeks away. Although I’m having a discussion with myself whether i need those games day one even thought I want them.

I need to either cash in Spelunky 2 (I've spent more than 14 hours across all platforms) or remove it (I've spent less than one hour on gamepass version) because I can't see myself getting end credits any time soon. If I'm going to have the same progression I did in Spelunky HD, that's five years away.

Hmmm. You know what, I might reserve my final slot for Ghostwire Tokyo, but I still need to know more about it.

The 10 game challenge is working out pretty well for me so far, I'm replaying old stuff (and having a great time) while I wait for new things I really want to play. I wouldn't have revisited this stuff without the challenge

You'd better add 🦆 Cotton Fantasy to my list O Great Duckbreaker as it is yet another shmup I have pre-ordered.
I think I have a problem.
On the plus side, I just went for the basic cheapo one from shopto, rather than the big CE set with all the unnecessary bollocks. Support the devs but without filling my house with tat is the way to go.

Question (although I think I already know the answer and I'm too lazy to read the post on the first page): If I add a PSPLUS game on to my gaming pile, does that count in the 10 game challenge? Even if it's just for an hour to see what it's like?

It. Is. Done. 🎯Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
75 hours on the clock, all of the primary missions done, and a fucktonne of the optional content as well. Somewhere around level 270 at the end. I may go back and mop up some more extras, and it is kinda fun just to wander about the place having adventures and shit. Mainline story was such utter, unearned, inconsistent wankery that I'm staggered even Ubisoft would have the cheek to call it a campaign. Utter drivel. The regional arcs are all far superior to the main storyline, no question.
Game would've been 250% better if it had been 20hrs shorter and called The Adventures of Fem-Eivor in Engurlund which jettisoned all the familial horseshit and doubled-down on the boat crew. All the other content could be the same, but treat the boat and crew to the same level of detail as Ravensthorpe. Definite missed opportunity.
Anyway. A solid 7/10 overall, pushing to 8/10 in its better moments. I'm still a big fan of the series, and will lap up the next one no doubt.

I would say that for PS Plus games in the 10 game challenge you would be allowed the 2hr grace period that backlog games would otherwise have in the slot challenge. I'm sure Duckbreaker will correct me if that it far too lenient. |
