We're at the end boss. Been pretty easy so far.
First encounter is kinda dungeon-adjacent really, maybe an extra step or two. Second encounter is basically the same but split into teams. 3rd encounter a fair bit more elaborate but nothing crazy.

Not in a great team so unfortunately we are struggling at DPS on the planets boss. But this thing is as filler as the rest of the campaign was. Feels like D2's Crota's End.

So, in the new weekly exotic quest, after the nodes encounter, you can find another node to activate. I can't find the combination anywhere. Someone knows what's up with that?

Do you mean after the first boss? It's a secret that gives you an upgrade module and prisms - shoot at it with vexcalibur and it'll spawn another off the side and below, then after that one another above the infinitely respawning vex unit. It'll spawn a chest. There's a few chest spawning secrets, the first one gives you the intrinsic upgrade (it's right at the start where you have to slide under the blocks, turn around and there's a switch above on a ledge, then after that follow the path around down the slope and you can use vexcalibur's shield to reach the chest). The rest seem to just be upgrade modules etc. youtu.be/yFKUYrlGi8USadly if you want the catalysts you need to beat it on legend which is fucking horrifically badly designed on this mission. Absolutely miserable. |

I don't normally get bothered by celebrity deaths but this one has been a real kick in the cunt. This fucker's beautiful velvety voice has been in my ear for 9 years and Destiny will not be the same without him around.
They should put a Lance memorial straight in next to Cayde in the tower. Fuck the 4th wall.

I've so fucking had it with that shit leveling system. About halfway from 1750 to 1800 now. Mostly getting prime engrams and powerful/pinnacle rewards for the same 3-4 slots, while in the class item slot I've not only not received a single powerful or pinnacle reward yet, but not even a single drop at power level.
Why not drop power levels entirely and just go with the hero/legend/master sets you to -5/-15/-20 levels below enemies?

It should absolutely be weighted towards your lowest levelled slot. Or even give you the option of what slot you focus prime engrams into.
Reminds me of the early D1 days when you had to rely on a full armour set dropping out of the raids to be max level. So dumb.

Jesus Christ the Lightfall campaign is fucking shit. So fucking lazy. The worst encounters I can ever recall playing in Destiny. It really is like playing an FPS from the late nineties published by Deep Silver
And so ugly as well. Cloud city on Neptune, full of people living in a super futuristic city all cybered up flying around on sky surfboards. And there are shipping containers just spread around *everywhere* These folks living in a completely isolated city sure do seem to handle a massive amount of LTL freight. Happy just dragging containers out and about like dogs being taken for a walk only to just leave them
The weekly missions are, yet again, great. Look fantastic, have a rational layout that evokes a world, not a level, and have a good story well told
It really is hard not to conclude the team who made the explanation had never been in charge of making anything in Destiny before, having been released from cryogenic freezing from 1997

Also, why is there a (supposedly huge) city with streets and buildings and lights and neon, when everyone lives digitally in the CloudArk anyway? So the two (why only two?) Cloud Striders can see where they're going?

The people did live in the City until it became apparent the Pyramid ships were coming back to get all Radial Masty, at which point they went into hiding in the cloud ark. Their bodies are in cryo freeze.
Not that there are any cutscenes for any of this, it's all in their famous lore books.

They're probably dropping PL in the near future, starting with next season having no PL increase.
FWIW at least until you hit powerful cap, dupe drops aren't the end of the world, since regular non powerful drops can drop at-level in your non levelled up slots to even you out, meaning that dupe drops can level you up again. Still annoying but it does remind me of back in BL the optimal way to level when powerfuls/pinnacles weren't as strong was basically running activities that dropped lots of blues until everything was averaged out then doing a pinnacle and repeating.

Finally got my rank 7, which will be my limit. The requirements for level 8 looks pretty insane for me.
Not that it matters, I expect the rank system to eventually be overhauled, since right now it makes no sense. Everyone is level 6. It was actually better when you would see the other players' season rank.

As an advice, since the exotic mission is long and it would suck to have to replay it later: when you are done with Brakion, notice the extra long end timer. There is stuff to find before you leave. Good thing I decided to sniff around.

Let's be honest though, we could totally see it coming a million miles away. I'm honestly not sure what the hell our guardian was doing and why couldn't he be the one to keep the door open. Especially since the mission ends when you enter that area, so I don't know where the player guardian even went.
I'll also be a little disappointed if she just comes back as a Guardian, even though you could also see some clear signs of that. It will feel like a copout. |
