To think Bungie wanted so adamantly to stick to their 10 years plan, we got a shit filler expansion just because they didn't want to stop at 9 years.
I'm dreading the next Dawning, because I'm sure they will get us to deliver cookies to Nimbus. Every time the guy did a dynamic entry for no reason, I rolled my eyes so far up my head that I've still got the migraine of the century an entire day after finishing the story.
It reminds me of that scene in Revenge of the Sith where Obi-wan and Anakin randomly twirl their lightsabers at each other just because.

The campaign boss fight was a fucker. Ended up hooking up with a random, even then it took us 3 attempts. Kept getting booted off the edge in the final areana.
Wasn't fun in the slightest.
And onto the grind. This campaign, planet, feels like a real missed opportunity.

www.ign.com/articles/destiny-2-lightfall-reviewWell that can't be good. On a side note, Strand is better once you switch from grapple to a stringing grenade. I'll admit that stringing enemies in the air and then hitting them up close is quite satisfying. Compared to Stasis, there is no shatter damage, but the stringing doesn't end as quickly, so it's probably even stronger. Champions in particular are effectively defenseless against this - I bet it could be used a lot for high-level Nightfalls. The Titan super is still quite beastly. Overall, a better class than I expected at first... shame it's not nearly as good for their intended purpose (swinging around like Spiderman). Also, it doesn't seem to have much build potential in terms of survivability, it's all about attacking, even for Titans. I also managed to complete a Vex Strikeforce event, finally. Got an exotic from that, but not the one I wanted. Guess there's no escaping those 1830 legendary lost sectors.

If they learn from this and knock it out of the park with the next expansion at least some good can come of it, but they've made so many of these mistakes in the past and seemed to learn from them then too... I feel like a bit of a mug paying for the deluxe edition and I can't even be bothered coming back to finish the story.

I feel like a bit of a mug paying for the deluxe edition and I can't even be bothered coming back to finish the story. I paid 33 euro on CDKeys for the standard edition, and since it included the current season, it's like I paid 23 euro for the expansion alone. For that price, it could have been worse, I guess. At least I got some exotics and a new subclass. Could have been better too. Oh well. The exotic Strand sidearm is super powerful for a primary ammo weapon, but too tricky to use for me. The exotic Void HMG feels underwhelming, but it does help my void build since it uses volatile rounds. The last weapon I can't get until the Terminal Overload event appears in the next two locations.

Take a Wish Ender or even Outbreak and pick away at range. I used Stasis turrets to make it even more trivial.

I was getting 6-7 minute runs down on it last night which is about the best you can hope for with these difficulty changes.
No Exotic from my 5 runs mind you. Grinding Exotics is going to be aids in the harder sectors and I won't even bother trying tbh.

Yeah I did another 4 earlier and got nothing. Absolutely baffling that the drop rate hasn't shifted.
Good source of easy Prisms I guess but I'm swimming in those already.

Strand is alot of fun, probably going to use it day 1 raid.
Expansion feels like a filler one to me; lots of reused content throughout - all the legendary weapons are old weapon models reskinned for example (mostly season of lost and moon weapons).

Seems expansions with reference to light, be it light or shadow, are kinda iffy.
Final Shape should be a good un, like Forsaken and Witch Queen. As opposed to Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and this one
Not far into it - keep getting pissed as crap encounters - but keep finding myself thinking the assets and layouts don’t even look like the b-team but as if made by a modding team

One of the exotic missions is just a retread of the GoS area, but since I never played the raid, it was good to finally be able to go there. Meanwhile, they disabled the new glaive for the raid contest day. I guess that means it's good and will be nerfed to the ground.

I've got a few of each subclass ready for the Day 1 raid now. Really liking the in-game loadout system (wish we could rename them ourselves). As easy as DIM is, 2-3 button presses in-game is lovely.
Think I'll be using stasis in the raid to begin with. It's absolutely nutty with that season pass bow equipped. Just need a few hundred more kills for the catalyst now too.

Did you get the 2 tailed fox catalyst yet? Worth doing if it doesn't get disabled, it's doing mad damage. If you combo it with the strand grapple reload fragment it's easily the best DPS in the game atm.
Something that'll be nice for Day 1 is it'll make swapping to gear with reserves on a lot easier with the loadout system. Or even different setups for pre/during DPS.

Yeah it dropped for me last night and I just need to get that boxed off after the bow one to be fully satisfied that I'm day 1 ready. Hopefully it doesn't get disabled! Going to be really interesting seeing how squishy we are in contest mode. I've always crutched on Seeking Wells to regen my abilities in stuff like this so running for Orbs to kick in Armour Charges is going to be.... Interesting.

Just finished all the quests. And I'm almost rank 29 with Nimbus. Looks like I'm basically done with the expansion, at least unless raid day opens up some new activity. A bit surprised by the final exotic quest. I didn't think they would name-drop Titan. Any chances it will eventually get unvaulted, even if just for a mission or a strike?

Managed to get Verglas Curve and Two Tailed Fox fully catalysed this evening. Think I've more or less got everything I need to give the Raid a go on Friday now.
Seems like they are being a bit kinder with the kills on completing a Catalyst now. Only took 4 or 5 runs of the seasonal battleground to get TTF done.

Seems like for TTF damage you only want one, as the jolt doesn't stack for multiple users. Seems meta will be 1x Gjallarhorn, 1x TTF, 4x Hothead with Explosive Light

Yeah I was reading that yesterday. I quite like that there's at least a bit more of a variety going to be needed in fireteam's loadouts rather than 5x Taipan and a Divinity.

What's the meta opinion on the new exotic sidearm? It seems very powerful for a primary, but kinda difficult to use well in the midst of a firefight.

Christ the difference in quality between seasonal mission and story vs the campaign is night and day
I’m thinking they had a massive data loss on the expansion and had to rebuild the entire thing over a weekend. Would explain the abysmal location that look like they came from a homebrew Half Life map, the dreadfully cheap encounters - how long has it been since you witnessed infinitely respawning enemies in an FPS? - and the myriad triggering issues.
Loved the season stuff. Although did have it bug out on my fireteam at boss fight once. That was annoying

Parts of the new location feel like a oversized PVP map to me, not a city that would've been teeming with life a few hours ago.

I don't think the encounters have infinite spawns, but there are a lot. What's the meta opinion on the new exotic sidearm? It seems very powerful for a primary, but kinda difficult to use well in the midst of a firefight. It can absolutely melt majors with the ADS mode if you land crits. I don't love it though.
