The courses look a bit rubbish compared to the ones in the base game, I'll still end up getting them, of course.

Yeah, I was put off by the bad dubbing for the Nintendo execs, thought "man, they should've just subbed it... RIGHT. Nintendo makes games for kids."

If you go to 1.5x the speed of playback on the Switch it turns into South Park narration and it’s a beautiful thing.

At that price it's worth a punt anyway. That's a steal.

The loading times on PS4 stopped me playing it. Can't imagine them being any better on Switch

Is Triangle Strategy a grid base TRPG like Tactics Ogre? That looks pretty good and comes out before AW Not seen anything else yet that appeals to me. Is Klonoa any good? I really liked Klonoa back on PS1 and PS2, but I was a kid then so not sure if it holds up extremely well. Hope it does. It was cute and fun. Triangle Strategy is indeed a grid based tactics game like TO and FFT. And it looks pretty damned fantastic. Here's SwitchUp's preview video.

I love the art style but don't think I can be arsed with a proper JRPG (Octopath). Much prefer FFT/TO style that's all battles without the walking around talking to people and random encounters. Would love TO on Switch but this might be a decent alternative

Im one of those weirdos who still plays switch games and doesn't see a huge need for an upgrade so for me that Direct was brilliant because A. There's tons of awesome stuff for all types of gamers on the way and B. It almost certainly means I don't need to buy a new one any time soon.
I'm super ready for some online Wii (Switch) sports and Mario strikers! The Trpg's and JRPG's look awesome too. Octopath Traveller was a real slow burn for me that eventually I grew to absolutely love! Can't wait to try the other games in that style. Oh what i'd give for the 16 bit final fantasy's to get that treatment. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't another Zelda remake in the Links Awakening style or an updated Earthbound but those were me dreaming anyway. For me the Switch will be the best console ever if we do see BOTW2 and Metroid prime 4 before the end of its life. The breadth of software across all tastes is unbelievable. It reminds me of the DS days when I would be playing Ace attorney or Zero escape followed by Castlevania then onto a Mario or professor Layton etc. Say what you like about Nintendo but when they are "on it" they really do offer something the other consoles don't despite the obvious flaws. There's a weird left field sense of fun to it all. The only genuinely interesting thing to me that the others have offered in years Is Gamepass which is awesome even if I rarely decide what to actually play lol.

Some dross of course (Force awakens FFS) but that was the best ND in a long time. Xenoblade 3, Mario Kart, Kirby, all awesome. Mario football is very welcome , loved the previous ones. A bit meh on Wii Sports but sure it’ll go down well.

The switch is pretty awesome (not that I ever get a chance to go on it!), but it's interesting to me that Nintendo's art style is such that I can quite happily play games on my Wii without them feeling old. The switch versions do actually have really nice visual upgrades (some of the lighting and textures and the detail on the objects in Animal Crossing, for example), but the simple aesthetic means that the Wii ones don't functionally look that different. Plus the Wii versions are 1/5th the price The main plus point of the Switch for me is all the indie games and downloads, though I do own a surprising amount of them on PC already. The main plus point for my kids is the online games. I may have to push the kids off it for Metroid Prime 4 though.

I mean if I had choice of the 3 current consoles.. hands down Switch would be it. Nintendo have finally cracked third party releases after all these years. And I'm not even bothered that they don't play as well as the other consoles. Beyond A Steel Sky ran like arse but playing it portable was fantastic.

Same here. Not a big fan of downgraded ports, so tend to avoid those, but there's plenty of games to pick. The first party stuff is also miles ahead of everything else, for me. So many games that I activity have to discourage myself from replaying so I can actually clear my backlog.

I watched the Nintendo Life review of the stream. Much more palatable. Some decent looking games in there but nothing overly exciting.
